copy and paste from pgSQL
by Marcus J. Ertl 02 Jun '02

Hi! I have a database of categorized links in pgSQL. And I have programmed a folderish produkt, witch shows all links from a special category. Now I can add into this folders other folders of the same type, and can build a tree of categories! Adding some dtml into this folders adds category-specific headers and footers! Very fine! I have to written a management-view of all links in the special category. And now starts the problem. I want to copy and move the links into other categories by buttons similiar to the normal zope copy, cut and paste buttons, using the same clipboard. If you try to paste such links into another folder of the same type, all should work normal, if you paste it into a normal folder, an error should arise! How may I do this? I don't want to create my own clipboard, but I also can't use OFS.CopySupport as parent of my product, because the links aren't stored in zope-db, but CopySupport stores the physical path into the clipboard! radio buttons in forms
by Raquel 02 Jun '02

Inside a form i have: <dtml-in PersonData> // it returns a list of "codigo" Alta: <input type="radio" name="sel_&dtml-codigo;" value=alta > Baja: <input type="radio" name="sel_&dtml-codigo;" value=baja > </dtml-in> I need to get the value of the variables : sel_&dtml-codigo, I mean sel_1, sel_2,sel_3 and so on, inside the form action method. I was trying something like : <dtml-in PersonData> <dtml-var "sel_&dtml-codigo"> </dtml-in> but it didn´t work. It works only If i put: <dtml-var sel_1> <dtml-var sel_2> <dtml-var sel_3>... but I want to call it from a dtml-in. How can i do this ? Thanks. ------------------------------------------------- This mail sent through IMP: http://horde.org/imp/

What am I missing? anything in the tal or metal namespaces isn't output to the browser. The r bit is just a dummy tag. > selected python:item.value==current_value;" - Why does this tag produce > selected="selected" and not just selected? Boolean magic of ZPT ;-) cheers, Chris

entering a folder
by Bill Kerr 02 Jun '02

How do I go into a folder rather than just call it, ie. the equivalent of cd folderName in DOS I tried, as part of a dtml-in loop: <dtml-call "absolute_url() + '/'+_['sequence-item']"> this calls the folder but does not go into it I want to go into it so that I can set a local role <dtml-call expr="manage_addLocalRoles(_['sequence-item'],['Manager'])"> this line works but is setting the local roles in the parent folder, I want them set in the child folders then I want to back out of it, the equivalent to cd.. I looked in Appendix B under Folder, get, manage but no joy I tried "this(absolute_url() + '/'+_['sequence-item']" and "this('absolute_url() + '/'+_['sequence-item']' "but didn't work - Bill Kerr

I have only seen one service that will host Zope. Can someone recommend others, so I have some choice? Are can I use any hosting service that allows me to upload my site?

How 2 startup zope hosting
by tama ! 02 Jun '02

02 Jun '02

Greetings All, I've been going back and forth with the idea of doing my own Zope hosting over the last few months and finally when the weather turns good I get this urge to start actively approaching this. So I wanted to send off this message to the group to get your insight and I hope to gather some experts who would be willing to help consult me further. What do I need to be looking at to start up virtual domain hosting? I've a few net friends who are isp's who have looked at some of the zope accounts and while they're interested, I'm not familiar enough with zope to make a proposal on what would be needed to get their support. I'm looking at them to be able to provide the hardware and some of the sppt. If there's someone here who would be willing to exchange a few emails or phone calls (my expense) I'd really appreciate it. This is more than a bit aggressive in what I'm wanting to achieve with my knowledge. Maybe we can exchange some resources or other that would benefit your help? Is Zope 3 being developed for programmers only?
by Jan Smith 02 Jun '02

02 Jun '02

I have recently been looking at Zope Page Templates with a view to switching over to them in preparation for Zope 3. However as I understand it people are encouraged to use Python rather than DTML when using TAL. TAL is not a replacement for DTML so what is the future for people who really like Zope and have DTML experience but not Python experience? Jan Smith WebMster OzZope http://www.ozzope.org
