Hi, Sorry that this is really a Python-specific problem, but I'm running Python 2.1.2, and for the following stub: import mutex lock = mutex() I get the following interpreter error: TypeError: object of type 'module' is not callable This IS extremely basic, but can someone tell me what is so special about this class??? I've even trolled the entire Python source code base, and there is nowhere that this module is used for me to see how to constuct an instance. FunctionalTests problem
by Didier Georgieff 08 Apr '02

08 Apr '02

Hello, I'm trying to use FunctionalTest, and am facing some strangeness with LoggingProxy. * I have Zope 2.5.1b1 and a separate INSTANCE_HOME with a recent CMF. * I have put FunctionalTests in lib/python * I run LoggingProxy with this .bat file set INSTANCE_HOME=D:\MY_INSTANCE_HOME "D:\ZOPE_HOME\251b1\bin\python.exe" "D:\ZOPE_HOME\251b1\lib\python\FunctionalTests\LoggingProxy.py" -v -p 8089 -l D:\scenario_requests -f scenario1 So i have a proxy running @ :8089 and a zope @ :10080 on my laptop. A - If i go (no browser proxy) to the root of my CMF site at http://localhost:10080/cmf all is fine and i can navigate just ok. B - I setup the browser for using localhost:8089 as proxy, and I try to go to the root of my CMF site http://localhost:10080/cmf then : 1 - With opera, the proxy is ignored 2 - with IE4 the proxy works, but i can't get any page served. On the console i have a report of the http request, and a file scenarioXX.out are created but empty. 3 - with Netscape a lot of scenarioXX.out files are created, but the browser is just iterating on "/cmf/zpt_stylesheet". Do i made some mistakes in the setup ? Do i have to use a special browser ? Is there a problem on windows ? Thanks for any tip and/or help for solving this. I will summarize as usual. Scheduled maintenance for all mail at python.org & zope.og
by barry＠zope.com 08 Apr '02

08 Apr '02

We plan on doing another upgrade to the mail server mail.python.org, a.k.a. lists.zope.org on Wednesday 10-Apr-2002, at 11am -0400 (EDT, US/Eastern). We will be upgrading to Exim 4, and this will affect all mail and mailing lists on the python.org and zope.org domains. Downtime should be minimal; if all goes well, just 15-30 minutes. You shouldn't even notice it. If you still cannot get email through by noon our time, check the www.python.org home page for status, or email Barry (barry(a)zope.com) Martijn (mj(a)zope.com) and Greg (gward(a)mems-exchange.org) -Postmaster @ {python,zope}.org

mysqldb, ZMySQL install. python executables
by florian.konnertz＠web.de 08 Apr '02

Hallo, just a short question... I installed ZMySQL 2.0.8. -ok , now I got MySQL-python-0.9.0. - I'm not sure where to install it. I read in a Zope beginners book about installing MySQL-python-0.3.5 in /usr/local/dc/zope/lib/python/Products Is this the right dir for 0.9 too? The README in ZMySQL tells me to use the same python executables as zope uses. How can I find out? Thanks in advance, Florian ______________________________________________________________________________ Für alle, die nicht genug WEB.DE bekommen können. 100 MB Speicher, 01212-Nummer und mehr E-Mail unter http://club.web.de/?mc=021101

Re: Problem after deleting an object...

I just solved the problem, I made a redirect to REQUEST.URL2/MyUrl and it seems to work. I guess that the "manage_delObjects" method changes the namespace, for these reason I got that error message.

Getting the dtml source from a product.
by Max M 08 Apr '02

08 Apr '02

I have made a Python product in the filesystem, but by accident I must have deleted one of the dtml files. It still works as Zope has cached the dtml page. But does anybody know how I can get a view of the dtml source so that I can get a copy of it and save it as a file again. I have written the product ages ago and really don't want put too much effort into it again if I can avoid it ;-) regards Max m
