Zeo Client Unresponsive

Hello, We have been having problem with our production servers. We currently have: zope 2.8.5 + zeo pythonm2.3.4 Red Hat RHEL 4 Plone 2.1.2 Our zeo clients hang intermittently. We have no way of reproducing the problem, but it occurs daily. The client hangs and a restart seems to fix the problem. In the event log with tracing on we get Trace zeo.zrpc.Connection(C) wait(16697) {server:8100} pending, async=0 There are hundreds to thousands of these until the server is restarted. In the zeo log we get Error caught in asyncor asyncore.py error:(110,'Connection timed out') We have been trying to track this down and have had no luck. Does anyone have any suggestions? Query about Localfs on Mac Os X 10.4.8

Hi all, I have a small query. I am running Zope server 2.9.4 on my Mac Os X 10.4.8 I have tried installing Localfs (version 1.0 etc) on this by two way Our traditional approach : Unzipping the Localfs download and putting it into Products directory and Using http://zope-localfs.darwinports.com/ But nothing seems to work.. PAS and md5 or crypt passwords

How do you use md5 passwords in PAS? I've got an SQL database already populated with usernames and md5 passwords from an old system that I am replacing - I don't have the cleartext passwords. Thanks, Robert (Jamie) Munro

New kubuntu zope/plone installation problem

I just installed zope and plone on a new Kubuntu installation using the Adept package manager. Zope comes up on port 8081 -- which was a bit of a surprise, as I expected it to be on port 9673 as in other Debian distributions -- but I can deal with that. The problem is I don't know the admin username and password. Is there a way to either find out what they are or to reset them to something known? Any help would be most welcome.

Thank you for your reply.. I'm planning to make a dynamic interface that do drag selection and catches coordinate information, but if I can't put GUI on a webpage, like java applet, are there any other methods? (anything beside java script, I java tried it and I don't get it, unless you could give me some pointers.) I know that I could use Java with python, but I really don't want to combine two languages. Thank you Dieter, I see, but i dont't know why the session is empty. When the session will be deleted it is not contains the previously set variables (keys) by the user.
