Netscape 6.2.1 + Zwiki + Permissions
by Heimo Laukkanen 03 Mar '02

Hi all, I noticed funny behaviour with Netscape 6.2.1 which differs from any other browser ( for example Netscape 4.7 or IE 6 ). I was authenticated into my zope in a directory foo with a manager role. When I created a Zwiki web into the root folder, where anonymous had rigths to access the Zwiki. I was stumped when I ( with my authenticated browser in foo-folder ) moved into the Zwiki-folder and while viewing the pages had no rigths to modify or comment anything. More over it was strange, since the same thing worked with IE6 and Netscape 4.7 - and I could do whatever I wanted from the management view. Has anyone else seen the same behaviour? -huima

Bug in dtml-calendar 1.0.12 (Stable)
by Heimo Laukkanen 03 Mar '02

03 Mar '02

Hi, I just noticed that dtml-calendar tag shows calendar wrong , if you set set weekdays to 15 in month mode. What it is supposed to do, is draw the calendar with only the weekdays present -- which it actually does -- but it just jumps over weekends. Meaning today is 2 nd of March saturday, but the calendar shows it as a monday. <dtml-calendar controls=no modes="month" bgcolor="#DDDDDD" lang=fi weekdays="15" tablewidth=200> ... </dtml-calendar> If you set weekdays to 17 everything works just fine. Has anyone else seen the same behaviour? -huima

Why does <dtml-searchcritdata> get expanded to $ in the <th><a href="<dtml-var URL>?sortcritdata=wonid&searchcritdata=<dtml-var searchcritdata>">Wonid</a></th> lines of the following code? I just dont get what i am doing wrong? How to use getitem in this situation
by Heimo Laukkanen 03 Mar '02

03 Mar '02

Hi all, had just a funny situation to which I didin't quite get the solution I wanted. My folder structure: root -- happenings + 2002-01-01 ( file ) + 2002-01-02 ( file ) Now in the root folder I had a dtml-document, in which a script wanted to fetch a title of one of those files in happenings folder. Id of the file was constructed into a variable x. Of course I solved the problem with <dtml-with happening> <dtml-var _.getitem(x).title></dtml-with>, but was left wondering was there other ways of doing this? In Python or PythonScript I would have needed getattr, rigth? -huima

setPermissionDefault
by Sidnei da Silva 02 Mar '02

02 Mar '02

Im trying to implement some default permissions on a product, which subclasses RoleManager, Folder, and CatalogAware. Defined some custom roles with: security = ClassSecurityInfo() __ac_roles__ = ('CustomRole1', 'CustomRole2') a method: security.declareProtected('APermission', 'mymethod') def mymethod(self, request): .... and a default Permission to CustomRole security.setPermissionDefault('APermission', ('CustomRole1', )) The roles show up on the Security tab, but when i try to check if a user with a role 'CustomRole1' has 'APermission', with: SecurityManagement.getSecurityManager().checkPermission('APermission', self) it always return None. If i go to the security tab and check 'APermission' for the role 'CustomRole1' it works, and checkPermission returns 1. I dont know what is wrong here, but if someone can help me, i will be very pleased. Thank you. []'s -- Sidnei da Silva X3ng Web Technology sidnei(a)x3ng.com.br

Hi, I downloaded the Kube-overview and must admit, that I don't get any klue, why I should use it, or what problem it solves. It would be very nice to have an example. --On Samstag, März 02, 2002 13:30:15 -0500 Isaac Levy <ike(a)visuallistening.com> wrote: > Sure, > > The download page for the Kube is: > > http://www.zope.org/Members/ike/Kube/Kube1.0 > > Best, > Isaac Levy > > > > On Saturday, March 2, 2002, at 05:33 AM, Joachim Schmitz wrote: > >> Could you provide an URL for download of the software ? >> >> --On Freitag, März 01, 2002 17:01:53 -0500 Isaac Levy >> <ike(a)visuallistening.com> wrote: >> >>> THE KUBE PRODUCT IS OUT OF BETA, after extensive and positive use. >>> >>> Kubes are Metadata containers created for use with Zope Page Templates. >>> >>> More information on Kube use can be found in this downloadable PDF, >>> http://informatikburo.net/Kube/Kube1.0_overview.pdf >>> >>> >>> a bit more... >>> -- >>> The Zope Aquisition model is very powerfull, and Kubes leverage it's >>> 'sliding' behavior by acting as a single 'document' with content >>> existing >>> as 'hookable' metadata (properties and file objects). >>> >>> This enables user to get the core functtionality of a SQL database, but >>> using the Zope Object Database- (therefore the data object is >>> completely >>> extensible, movable, and mallieable- all in real time, with live data.) >>> >>> Kubes should speed the development of data-driven, ZPT based >>> applications >>> and websites considerably. >>> >>> The default data types for Kubes are oriented around a publishing-model >>> 'story content unit' idea, but can be changed to accomodate whatever >>> data >>> you want to put in them! -- >>> >>> Best- >>> Isaac >>> >>> >>> >>> Isaac Levy >>> + Office of Structured Systems >>> http://structuredsystems.net >>> >>> >>> _______________________________________________ >>> Zope-Announce maillist - Zope-Announce(a)zope.org >>> http://lists.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope-announce >>> >>> Zope-Announce for Announcements only - no discussions >>> >>> (Related lists - Users: http://lists.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope >>> Developers: http://lists.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope-dev ) >> >> >> >> Mit freundlichen Grüßen Joachim Schmitz >> -------------------------------------------------------------------- >> AixtraWare Ingenieurbüro für Internetanwendungen >> Hüsgenstr. 33a, D-52457 Aldenhoven >> Telefon: +49-2464-8851, FAX: +49-2464-905163 >> -------------------------------------------------------------------- >> Key fingerprint = DA10 CC82 62F8 1DBB 39A1 1EDC 725B 3317 A8D7 C3A6 >> Keyserver: http://germany.keyserver.net/en/ >> > Mit freundlichen Grüßen Joachim Schmitz -------------------------------------------------------------------- AixtraWare Ingenieurbüro für Internetanwendungen Hüsgenstr. 33a, D-52457 Aldenhoven Telefon: +49-2464-8851, FAX: +49-2464-905163 -------------------------------------------------------------------- Key fingerprint = DA10 CC82 62F8 1DBB 39A1 1EDC 725B 3317 A8D7 C3A6 Keyserver: http://germany.keyserver.net/en/

unbound method error with ZPT
by Peter Bengtsson 02 Mar '02

02 Mar '02

Everything used to work fine but now I get a weird error message in my METAL macros Page Template. No line number, so I started removing things until I came to an odd conclusion. That this does NOT work: <html metal:define-macro="standard"> <br tal:replace="python:here.APythonScript()" /> </html> BUT, this works: <html metal:define-macro="standard"> <br tal:replace="here/APythonScript"/> </html> Zope 2.3.2, python 1.5.2, win98 TAL, PageTemplates 1.4.(latest) I have searched the mailinglist but found no solution. It was working before until the site got complicated. I suppose I should be more specific about the whole problem but I was hoping for a quick answer. Has anybody come across this; and solved it?? Cheers, Peter
