File upload Content type and File size

Hi everybody, How woyld I be able to let a user upload a file and check the file size and content type. What I would like to do is check the filesize and content type of the file before adding it to zope. But It would be ok to get this info afterwards so I can immediatly delete the file. I use a form to upload the file. Then process the info: <dtml-call "manage_addFile( id=new_ArtNo, file=new_file, title=new_ArtNo )"> this works fine. What I thought I had to do next is: <dtml-with new_ArtNo> <dtml-var get_size> </dtml-with> (still in the same dtml-method) but I don´t seem to get the property of the new created file but the folder it is in and this raises an error. I think it does this because if I say: <dtml-with new_ArtNo> <dtml-var title_or_id> </dtml-with> I get the title of the folder. Can someone tell me how to get the right size of the newly added file. Hi, I have a ZCatalogued document base that looks like following tree: A \-- B \-- C \-- D \-- E \-- F The catalog is called Cat. Searching for all objects of type t1 is done by issuing Cat({'meta_type':t1'), but how can I search all objects in Cat of type t1 UNDER C ? is there something like Cat({'meta_type':t1, 'parent':C) ? where UNDER means directly under or indirectly, so that D, E and F are searched... --- And the list goes on, here are some more that I have recently added. Sometimes I think Calvin and Hobbes have more wisdom than I. Edit input forms using formulator

I'm following the recommendations on using Formulator forms and info in the Book of Zope and not having much luck translating the Add form ( which works great ) into an Edit form that must be filled in with existing values. My list method uses direct traversal to an zsql method, and I want to add an additional path to the Formulator form which will pre-fill in the values For instance, each item is listed with a link to the edit form like [ <a href="<dtml-var URL1>/user_by_id/&dtml-userid;/forms/userEdit/"> Edit </a> Where the user_by_id is a zsql method with direct traversal enabled. I added the "field.render(field[field.getId()], REQUEST) as suggested by some archived email message but I get the error. Error Type: AttributeError Error Value: __getitem__ When clicking the edit link. Any suggestions or examples on how to get formulator ( or forms in general ) to work with zsql would be appreciated. PS: Keep it simple, I'm still fairly new to zsql and forms.. Python 2.1.2 complie on Solaris

Hi all I need help with compiling Python 2.1.2 from source for Solaris 2.8-Sparc/2.7-Intel. I know that this forum isn't exactly right but since I want to use Zope with it I think that the answers I get from this group are easier to "understand" than from the Python Pro's ;-) There are two possibilities: gcc oer SUN Forte (+about 10% speed! Therefore preferred!) Please include the POSIX options if set. Or does someone know where to get precompiled binaries??? Thanx for the help in advance! Good Examples of Products Using ZPT

I'm just starting to learn ZPT, and while the latest updates to the Zope Book have been very helpful, I still don't have a clear idea of the right way to use ZPT (instead of DTML) when creating a product. Any suggestions on well-written products I should examine? Thanks, Anders Schneiderman

Page Templates problem

Dear all, When attempting to create a new Page Template I get the following error (only when editing in Internet Explorer, it doesn't raise an error in Netscape). Has anyone come across this before? Barnes & Nobles Putting Zope Books in the wrong place!!!!!!

I don't know who knows anybody at B&N, but maybe the authors of the ZOPE related books can all call the booksellers and get them to put the Zope books in the correct section! Currently, B&N keeps the ZOPE books in the Networking systems section, a hodge podge of books that have absolutely nothing to do with Web App development. I brought this to the attention of the section manager, and, although he agreed with me, he told me there are other people higher up the food chain that decide these things, and that he could not move them. The computer inventory system would have to tell him where to put the books. There is a Web Development section, and a Languages section. Either one would be more apropos for Zope books. The Python section has grown considerably, and if placed in the language section, would be within a shelf of the well-browsed python language books. The Web development section is fairly huge, and mostly related to various ASP, PHP, and other tools, and, given it's size, would be harder to stand out in, although it would be a more apropriate section. On the plus side, being at the END of a section (Z) is a good thing. So, after having to browse EVERY section at B&N, and finding Zope in the 'wrong' one, I'd like it to be easier for EVERYONE to find these books. Enough said, just wanting to let somebody know. TAL compilation error

I am compiling a page template and I get this message: Compilation failed TAL.TALDefs.METALError: METAL attributes on <div> require explicit </div>, at line 203, column 1 I have checked my code and there is definitely a matching </div> for every <div> on the page. Does anyone know how to go about debugging this? The tag at line 203, column 1 is <div metal:fill-slot="main"> if that makes any difference. T.
