IIS and PCGI
by Paul Zwarts 27 Feb '02

Greetings, I've always used Zserver by itself but I have reason to put it behind MS-IIS (unfortunatley) and I cant get it running. I've done everything as prescribed to connect pcgi to MS-IIS. I seem to be getting _something_ because I do get a traceback from zope when accessing MS-IIS: Wed Feb 27 12:14:00 2002 unable to publish module Traceback (most recent call last): File "E:\WebSite\pcgi\pcgi_publisher.py", line 303, in handler self.publish_module(self.moduleName,stdin=stdin,stdout=stdout,stderr=std err, environ=env) File "E:\WebSite\lib\python\ZPublisher\Publish.py", line 150, in publish_module response = publish(request, module_name, after_list, debug=debug) File "E:\WebSite\lib\python\ZPublisher\Publish.py", line 57, in publish (bobo_before, bobo_after, object, realm, debug_mode, err_hook, File "E:\WebSite\lib\python\ZPublisher\Publish.py", line 198, in get_module_info module=__import__(module_name, globals(), globals(), ('__doc__',)) File "E:\WebSite\lib\python\Zope\__init__.py", line 37, in ? Newbie Question : Problems with Automatic Cataloging of ZClasses
by Dianne Van Dulken 27 Feb '02

27 Feb '02

Hi all, I am having a problem with cataloging of zClasses automatically, as defined by Chapter 9 in the zope book, not actually cateloging anything but the url and the date. I know this problem was asked about way back in November, and Steffan gave the answer that we needed to add the following to the constructor file of the class: "<dtml-with "NewsItem.createInObjectManager(REQUEST['id'], REQUEST)"> ( this line should already be there ) <dtml-call "propertysheets.Input.manage_editProperties(REQUEST)"> <dtml-call unindex_object> <dtml-call "manage_editCataloger('inputFilesCatalog', REQUEST)"> <dtml-call index_object> 'NewsItem' is the name of your class. 'Input' is the name of the property sheet that should be cataloged. 'inputFilesCatalog' is the name of the catalog that should be used. " I've done this, matching up the names to what I have them as, but now, whenever I try to define anything I get the following error: " Traceback (innermost last): File /home/Zope-2.5.0/lib/python/ZPublisher/Publish.py, line 150, in publish_module File /home/Zope-2.5.0/lib/python/ZPublisher/Publish.py, line 114, in publish File /home/Zope-2.5.0/lib/python/Zope/__init__.py, line 158, in zpublisher_exception_hook (Object: NewsItem_factory) File /home/Zope-2.5.0/lib/python/ZPublisher/Publish.py, line 98, in publish File /home/Zope-2.5.0/lib/python/ZPublisher/mapply.py, line 88, in mapply (Object: NewsItem_add) File /home/Zope-2.5.0/lib/python/ZPublisher/Publish.py, line 39, in call_object (Object: NewsItem_add) File /home/Zope-2.5.0/lib/python/OFS/DTMLMethod.py, line 127, in __call__ (Object: NewsItem_add) File /home/Zope-2.5.0/lib/python/DocumentTemplate/DT_String.py, line 473, in __call__ (Object: NewsItem_add) File /home/Zope-2.5.0/lib/python/DocumentTemplate/DT_With.py, line 76, in render (Object: NewsItem.createInObjectManager(REQUEST['id'], REQUEST)) File /home/Zope-2.5.0/lib/python/DocumentTemplate/DT_Util.py, line 159, in eval (Object: propertysheets.news.manage_editProperties(REQUEST)) (Info: REQUEST) File <string>, line 2, in f File /home/Zope-2.5.0/lib/python/OFS/PropertySheets.py, line 396, in manage_editProperties File /home/Zope-2.5.0/lib/python/OFS/PropertySheets.py, line 215, in _updateProperty File /home/Zope-2.5.0/lib/python/ZPublisher/Converters.py, line 111, in field2date File /home/Zope-2.5.0/lib/python/DateTime/DateTime.py, line 625, in __init__ Invalid Date-Time String: (see above) " Presumably something nasty has happened with my date, but I can't for the life of me work out what it is. Any ideas would be greatfully accepted. Di (hoping that posting the big error isn't a bad newbie mistake)

can't add back "title" to object?
by Chris Ryland 27 Feb '02

27 Feb '02

I've got a folder from which I (mistakenly) deleted the "title" property. When I try to add it back (title / string / <string value>), I get a Zope error: "Bad request / invalid or duplicate property id". This is probably a Zope-for-Dummies-style question, but I'm a little stumped. (A quick Google search turned up nothing, though perhaps I'm not looking correctly.) Thanks for any help. -- Cheers! ExtFile and ftp access
by Markus Koelle 27 Feb '02

27 Feb '02

Can you tell me, how I can patch the extFile-product to allow ftp and webdav transport. FTP-uploaded Images should become extImages and files should become extfile-objects. Please can you give me detailed information about PUT_factory.py. Another problem with extFile-product: A 2,8 MB-File can uploaded via http with no probs, the upload of bigger files (6 MB, 14 MB) stops with time-out. Any idea? Sincerely M. Koelle

Document Template Parse Error
by worona 27 Feb '02

Using Zope 2.4.3, I am receiving a "Document Template Parse Error" when trying to use a dtml-let tag in a DTML Document. The content for the site was copied from a Zope 2.5 server using ZSyncer. When I add a new document and try to use a simple dtml-let tag such as the following: <dtml-let myval="my value"> <dtml-var myval> </dtml-let> I get the error listed below. I thought some construct like: > > myObject.getPhysicalPath.objectValues > > so it gets the objectValues relative to myObject and not relative to the > object from where > myObject is called. So, what's wrong with restrictedTraverse('/myobject').objectValues()? cheers, Chris

Saving files to zope using Dreamweaver?
by Enoch Norton 27 Feb '02

27 Feb '02

I am a really new user of Zope. In going through the Zope book I am stumped in the following section. I seem to be missing some very important key piece of information. I have tried to save my Dreamweaver templates to the ../index_html/source.html. However because index_html is not a folder the ftp client in Dreamweaver will not allow me to access the url. I guess I don't understand how one is supposed to save a file to a URL when the file.Save As.. option is dependent upon directories. If anyone has some insight to offer please let me know. **** Cut From Zope Book*** Using Zope Page Templates Now, log into your Zope and create a folder called FileLib. In this folder, create a Page Template called index_html by selecting Page Template from the add menu, specifying the Id index_html in the form, and clicking Add. ????????????????????? I don't understand this section ?????????????????? Now, with your HTML editor, save the above HTML to the URL of the index_html Page Template followed by /source.html, for example, http://localhost:8080/FileLib/index_html/source.html. Notice that the URL to save the index_html page ends in source.html. Because Page Templates are dynamic, you need a way to edit the raw source of the template, unrendered by the page template language. Appending source.html to a Page Template gives you this raw source. Note, if the content-type of your page is text/xml then you'll use source.xml, rather than source.html. ??????????????????????????? Now that you've saved the template, you can go back to Zope and click on index_html and then click on its Test tab to view the template. It looks just like it the mock-up, so everything is going well. _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Get your free @yahoo.com address at http://mail.yahoo.com
