dtml-in fails
by Holger Paulsen 28 Nov '01

28 Nov '01

Hello! I am very new to Zope, I do not know something about Python and DTML and I am german. So, at first, I have to apologize my bad english. And now my problem: I would like to show the content of a directory. Simple. That fine Zope-book says: | <ul> | <dtml-in expr="objectValues('../File')"> | <li><a href="&dtml-absolute_url;"><dtml-var title_or_id></a></li> | </dtml-in> | </ul> should do this. I created a folder, put two JPGs from my home directory into it and pasted that code into the index_html-DTML-document. It does not work. When I view this index.html-File in a Browser, the result is: | <ul> | </ul> Please note the "space" before "</ul>". My system is GNU/Linux; Debian testing. "python -v" answers: | # /usr/lib/python1.5/exceptions.pyc matches /usr/lib/python1.5/exceptions.py | import exceptions # precompiled from /usr/lib/python1.5/exceptions.pyc | # /usr/lib/python1.5/site.pyc matches /usr/lib/python1.5/site.py | import site # precompiled from /usr/lib/python1.5/site.pyc | # /usr/lib/python1.5/os.pyc matches /usr/lib/python1.5/os.py | import os # precompiled from /usr/lib/python1.5/os.pyc | import posix # builtin | # /usr/lib/python1.5/posixpath.pyc matches /usr/lib/python1.5/posixpath.py | import posixpath # precompiled from /usr/lib/python1.5/posixpath.pyc | # /usr/lib/python1.5/stat.pyc matches /usr/lib/python1.5/stat.py | import stat # precompiled from /usr/lib/python1.5/stat.pyc | # /usr/lib/python1.5/UserDict.pyc matches /usr/lib/python1.5/UserDict.py | import UserDict # precompiled from /usr/lib/python1.5/UserDict.pyc | Python 1.5.2 (#0, Apr 10 2001, 10:03:44) [GCC 2.95.3 20010219 (prerelease)] on linux2 | Copyright 1991-1995 Stichting Mathematisch Centrum, Amsterdam | import readline # dynamically loaded from /usr/lib/python1.5/lib-dynload/readline.so The installed Debian version of Zope is 2.3.3-1. Something seems to be borken. How can I fix it? TIA Holger

hi all, i have been using zope for months and i never get such an interface error. if i click on the root directory (in the left navigation)in the management interface , i don't see the list of the objects which are in the root directory on the right part of the screen, but i see the welcome page from zope which you see if you give the url http://localhost:8080/ if i click on the directory acl_users, i see the correct webpage to add user. if i click on the directory quickstart, i see the correct webpage too. if i click on the directory Products under control_panel, i don't see the correct webpage, but i see the welcome page. could someone help me and tell me what is the problem? PS: I try a new installation. i restart my server. i delete the proxypass from apache. i ever see the same :-( greetings, isabelle Isabelle Neunreither Dresdner Bank AG Telefon : +49 (0)69 / 263-52347 Mail : Isabelle.Neunreither(a)dresdner-bank.com

PageTemplates problem
by Richard Hewison 28 Nov '01

28 Nov '01

We've recently installed Zope 2.4.3 on an Apache based SuSE Linux 7.3 server. Everything is working fine except for the PageTemplates product. We've placed the TAL and ZTUtils products in the Python directory (rather than Products) as recommended elsewhere. We've also put the PageTemplates product inside the Products directory, but it never appears as an installed Product when we restart Zope. TAL and ZTUtils appear fine, but no sign of PageTemplates anywhere... Are we missing something obvious here? Any help appreciated!

RE: FW: [Zope] using webdav +windows explorer+ zope
by Clark OBrien 28 Nov '01

By the way I would be interested in hearing recomendations for a remote and local authoring tool. Everything we have tried so far is giving us problems. Trying to move files from our dev environment zope server to our production zope server is proving to be a particular challenge for us. Using ws_ftp changed files from type python script to type dtml method. Has anyone tried linking Visual Source Safe with zope via Web Dav. Version control is also a problem for us since we are 10 developers updating to the same production server. -----Original Message----- From: Eron Lloyd [mailto:lloyd@lancaster.lib.pa.us] Sent: Tuesday, November 27, 2001 1:44 PM To: Clark OBrien Cc: zope(a)zope.org Subject: Re: FW: [Zope] using webdav +windows explorer+ zope What version of Zope are you running, and what version of Windows do you have? There is a known problem with WebDAV & Win2K. Upgrade to the latest version of Zope, and when you add a network place, use the same URL you would use in a browser. Make sure you aren't pointing to the WebDAV source port, either.
