Structured Text, touble with tables
by Robert Rottermann 10 Nov '01

I try to create a table with structured text. I have the impression, that the results are rather erratic. I looked at the code that creates the table. However I failed to understand it. I attach a stx file with a table I would like to create. If any helpful soul could put it trough the structured text processor and tell me where it does find all the un needed dashes it puts into the table, and why it creates different number of columns I would be very grateful. External Methods triggers Zope restart
by myers＠crd.ge.com 09 Nov '01

I am having a frustrating problem with External Methods. I have regressed to Zope 2.4.0 to try to resolve this. Basically, the following external method works: def helloWorld(): """A simple external method.""" return 'Hello World!' But the following method causes Zope to restart with no traceback: def helloWorld(): """A simple external method.""" a = 'Hello World!' return a If I use self.a instead of just a, the method works. I used th epython debugger, and the correct HTML is displayed in both cases. I don't find anything usefull in the -M log either. Has anyone seen anything like this, or have any ideas where I should look next. Thanks, Paul OS: HP-UX 10.20 Python 2.1.1 Zope 2.4.0

RE: [Zope] Rendering Word .doc and PowerPoint .ppt as thumbnails
by Meilicke, Scott 09 Nov '01

Could you use something like http://www.zope.org/Members/eric/MSWordDocument or http://www.zope.org/Members/sf/NuxDocument, grab a few lines of the HTML, and display those lines in a small box using a small font size? You could possibly adapt the MSWordDocument to export powerpoint if you are on windows via com. -Scott -----Original Message----- From: Brian Sullivan [mailto:brians@meetingbywire.com] Sent: Friday, November 09, 2001 2:37 PM To: zope(a)zope.org Subject: [Zope] Rendering Word .doc and PowerPoint .ppt as thumbnails Anybody have any idea how this can be done as a server function( either statically in conjunction with upload of the files or dynamically as server callable function) _______________________________________________ Zope maillist - Zope(a)zope.org http://lists.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope ** No cross posts or HTML encoding! ** (Related lists - http://lists.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope-announce http://lists.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope-dev )

Redirecting a browser if len(someSQLQueryResult) == 1
by Timothy Wilson 09 Nov '01

09 Nov '01

Hi everyone, I'm building a SQL-based app for my site that makes it posssible to enter a street address and city into a form and search for which elementary, middle, and high school children at that address would attend. I've got all the SQL stuff working well. Now I'm working on trying to improve the interface. Here's what I want to do: If someone performs a query using a street address like '123 Maple', the query returns a list of matching items that might include '123 Maple Ave', '123 Maple St', etc. This is what it's supposed to do. The user then sees a list of potential matches with each item a hyperlink to the specific school information for that address. For example: /info/dwelling_info/dwellingID/971335/attendanceAreaRpt calls the attendanceAreaRpt on the results of a 'dwelling_info' ZSQL method using dwellingID = 971335. No problem there. If the original search only returns one result, I'd like the browser to go directly to the info for that address without having to take the additional step of clicking on the address in the search report. I can do <dtml-call "RESPONSE.redirect('/info/dwelling_info/dwellingID/971335/attendanceAreaRpt')">, but the obvious problem is that I've hardcoded the dwellingID. How can I dynamically insert a portion of my SQL query (the dwellingID) into my redirect? -Tim -- Tim Wilson | Visit Sibley online: | Check out: Henry Sibley HS | http://www.isd197.org | http://www.zope.com W. Random code?
by Jonathan (Listserv Account) 09 Nov '01

09 Nov '01

Hi list, Trying to randomly insert content into a page, using the following code: <dtml-var expr="_.whrandom.choice(myFolder.objectValues())"> which chooses a random object from the folder 'myFolder' and includes it in the page. When I include HTML however, all '<' and '>' are rendered as '<' and '>' respectively, making the HTML code show up on the page. Anybody knows how to make it just include the code without changes? Thnx, Jonathan
