That path leads to madness and chaos - for instance, what happens when daylight savings kicks in or out? Zope for Solaris 2.5.1
by Gregorio Hernández Piris 23 Oct '01

23 Oct '01

Hello: I'm trying to install zope on a Solaris 2.5.1 Sparc machine, from source code. I installed Python 2.1.1 for that machine, but when executing the installation script (w_pcgi.py) it ends with an error: cannot load libgcc_s.so.1 I'm using gcc 2.95.3, but, maybe I should use gcc 3.0 to avoid this problem? I'm desperate, as I need Zope running soon, but I can't solve this problem. Any ideas? Thanks, Gregorio.

There allready exist such a key for each object in the ZODB called the oid, but I don't think that it's easy to get at through normal means. I am not even shure that it's "allowed" to use it for anything. > You will need to use a ZCatalog to make > lookups on this > id efficient, but this would allow you to put the object anywhere > you like, > and rename them without screwing up the relationships. So this should work on any plattform where zope works. cheers, oliver

where does zLOG get the time it records?
by Lynn Walton 23 Oct '01

23 Oct '01

Lines printed to my stupidFileLogger (debug.log) have the time indicated about 4 hours later than my machine is set for. Yet, the INFO messages for the server starting up show the correct time. 2001-10-23T01:59:09 INFO(0) ZServer HTTP server started at Mon Oct 22 21:59:09 2001 Anyone know what I'd have to change to make the time stamp be in the time zone I want? That is, this instead? 2001-10-22T21:59:09 INFO(0) ZServer HTTP server started at Mon Oct 22 21:59:09 2001 Thanks, Lynn

Could it be that you're in a timezone 4 hours ahead of UTC/GMT? Certainly your mail headers seem to indicate this. >>> Lynn Walton wrote > Lines printed to my stupidFileLogger (debug.log) have the time > indicated about 4 hours later than my machine is set for.
