excluding objects with a certain title from tree
by Meilicke, Scott 12 Sep '01

Hi all, I've been banging my fingers for hours. Using the tree tag, I'm trying to find a way to display folders, and exlude folders with a certain id. Here's what I have so far. Calling the tree: <dtml-tree portal branches="<dtml-var left_tree_nodes>"> <a href="&dtml-portal_url;/<dtml-var tree-item-url fmt=url-quote>"><IMG SRC="<dtml-var icon>" BORDER=0><dtml-var title_or_id></a> </dtml-tree> the left_tree_nodes method: <dtml-unless "id == 'Members' or id == 'hidden'"> <dtml-return "objectValues('Portal Folder')"> </dtml-unless> If I do something like: <dtml-tree branches_expr="oejbectValues('Portal Folder')"> <dtml-unless "id == 'Members'"> <dtml-title> </dtml-unless> </dtml-tree> I get a plus sign where the folder 'Members' is located, just no title. Thanks - Scott

ZClasses and aquisition
by Robert Rottermann 12 Sep '01

12 Sep '01

Hi there, I created a Zclass that renders some data and displayes it. I use DTMLMethod as one of its base classes. One of the classes methods is called index_html. This method calls the rendering function. So http://..../myInstane works fine. However when I want to embed the output within an other page I either get the wrong output, or an error. using: <dtml-var myclass> produces just the content of the DTMLMetho (instead of rendering it first). <dtml-var expr="myclass.index_html()"> claimes that the rendering function I defined in the class are not defined. So how can I use my ZClass like a function, or how can I embed its output in an other page?? thanks Robert

Create an account with cookiecrumbler
by Gilles Lenfant 12 Sep '01

12 Sep '01

Hi, A form requires authentication data for subscription. I handle this data with a python script and create a new user in acl_user with 'member' role. Till there all's OK. Then I add some instructions in this script to log this new user with CookieCrumbler, as indicated in the default provided "login_form" ... context.acl_users.manage_users(submit='Add', REQUEST=context.REQUEST) context.REQUEST.form['__ac_name'] = form['newusername'] context.REQUEST.form['__ac_password'] = form['newpassword'] context.REQUEST.form['__ac_persistent'] = '1' context.REQUEST.form['came_from'] = 'minimum_html' return context.logged_in(context, REQUEST=context.REQUEST) What's strange : 1/ This does not work 2/ The new user is not created when adding the lines that _try to_ log using CookieCrumbler Any idea ? Thanks in advance --Gilles

Re: [Zope] Moving a application from digicool.com to our host...
by addyd＠unk.edu 12 Sep '01

Sir, My "objective" is only to learn the most effective way to move an older version Zope application from one host to another with the least amount of wasted time and effort. My question was asked of both this list AND the address found at zope.com's contact page. I had assumed (I believe correctly) that how to transfer Zope applications from one hosting company to another is something that would a) be of interest to those who subscribe to this list b) find a knowledgable "been there, done that" answer from among this list's readers. It is not my intention to start a conflict (only to find answers) but I do find it discouraging when I run into self-appointed list cops who impute wrong motives to users or prospective users who are asking legitimate questions. I can only hope that Mr. Barrett's response is not the most useful that I will find from this list. I am looking forward to finally "getting my hands dirty" with Zope (in resolving this problem and administering the application), and hope that in the near future I too can provide answers to those new to Zope. :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Richard Barrett wrote: I would have thought that you would be best advised to address this to digicool aka zope corporation at an email address you might find on http://www.zope.com/AboutUs/ContactUs. As a user of zope, which is why I subscribe to this list, I'm not interested in whatever commercial problem you and your employers have. Trying to embarrass digicool or whatever your objective was in posting to this list is, in my opinion, out of order. ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Darren Addy Web Specialist Information Technology Services University of Nebraska at Kearney

> I tried this and got the same traceback result. We checked this with just > a > To and From header(explained below) and while the mail was sent the > headers > where mangled. > Thanks for the help... But I still think this is a problem (obviously not the only one). But I have another shot, and now I would bet on it: getEmailbyName is a dtml method which returns an extra newline after the sender name. You see this when you look at the message you got working, the From: adress, also comming from getEmailbyName: <jpeterso(a)rangebroadband.com > Try <<dtml-var "_.string.strip(_['getEmailbyName'])">> But you might really have to adjust your dtml-ifs. Re: [Zope] webdav + ms word (we have the same problem)
by Carl Robert Blesius 12 Sep '01

We are having a webdav + ms word problem as well and are also looking for a work around (this is a key feature... almost everyone that I know uses word). We are using Zope 2.4.1 on Solaris and Windows Web Folders (webdav) function on Win NT. It seems to work for word .doc files but not for .html or .htm files Word opens the file read only. The only way to save it is to save it under another name. Changing the default error message on logins
by Michael Anderson 12 Sep '01

12 Sep '01

Is there a way to change the error message generated when a user enters the incorrect username and password? We are using the default browser authentication and when some users see "Zope Error" in bold, they quit reading the message assume the site is down. I'd like to return a message that just says tells them their name or password are incorrect and to re-enter them. Can I do this with the default login, without editing HTTPResponse? Or will I have to use a different login manager. Thanks.
