RE: [Zope] Netscape 4.7x Redirect problem
by Schmidt, Allen J. 31 Aug '01

I changed the redirects from just the file or folder name: RESPONSE.redirect('/Allen/menu') And added the full server name. Works fine in Netscape now. Thanks!! I was going to add like this: RESPONSE.redirect(SERVER_NAME+'/Allen/menu') Then I don't have to change things when moving from development to production. But, it give the real name of the computer server and not the Zope domain name. Any ideas there? Or just leave it alone? Its not used in but a handful of places. Zope Find works great for tracking the locations too, so its not really a big deal. Thanks to all for the tips. Adding a ZClass instance in python
by Gilles Lenfant 31 Aug '01

31 Aug '01

Hi, I've read this How-To http://www.zope.org/Members/tazzzzz/addZClasses But I'm deadly trying to do this in a python script (that's not a ZClass method and does not reside in a product), an not in an external method. I've deeply tried to find a way but did not succed. The creation of ZClass instances through ZMI works perfectly , through the usual MyProduct/MyZClass_addForm and MyZClass_add All I do is this (translation into python script of the DTML method from above mentioned URL): context.REQUEST.set('id', myNewId) context.manage_addProduct['MyProduct'].MyZClass_add(_.None, NoRedir=1) return 'Done' I got this... Error Type: NameError Error Value: MyZClass [VERY LONG TRACEBACK FINISHING WITH] (Object: MyZClass_add) File /usr/local/Zope-2.3.3-linux2-x86/lib/python/DocumentTemplate/DT_With.py, line 138, in render (Object: MyZClass.createInObjectManager(REQUEST['id'], REQUEST)) File /usr/local/Zope-2.3.3-linux2-x86/lib/python/DocumentTemplate/DT_Util.py, line 339, in eval (Object: MyZClass.createInObjectManager(REQUEST['id'], REQUEST)) (Info: REQUEST) File <string>, line 0, in ? NameError: (see above) Does someone have an idea ? Many thanks in advance ! --Gilles

If yes, could you elaborate why it might not be capable to handle 10000 users with a sql-backend? Negative experience? I ask because I'm going to do a project which might involve also as many users. cheers, oliver

I think SecurityCheckPermission won't want to be handed the return value (output) of your object editContact, just the object itself, thus it's clearly wrong to call it. Your confusion might come from the fact that "this" is indeed a method, which, when called, returns the object where "this" is called. cheers, oliver

Fw: [Zope] Drag and Drop in ZMI?
by Joachim Werner 31 Aug '01

31 Aug '01

> > Has anyone else tried this.. or can suggest which module I "HotPatch .. > MonkeyPatch .. > > DynamicPatch" to allow me to inject some HTML in ZMI folder pages? This one isn't really hard. I haven't done it myself, but other programs, e.g. "BSCW", use drag&drop via Javascript. You'd just have to beef up the DTML in "main.dtml" (lib/python/OFS/dtml/main.dtml) with some Javascript magic. Would you mind sending me a copy if you succeed? ;-) Joachim Here is an URL for the BSCW drag&drop uploader: http://bscw.gmd.de/DownloadGoodies.html#interface
