form Image Object
by Tom Deprez 23 Aug '01

23 Aug '01

Hi, Is it possible to keep an image object over http requests? (without a core session tracker) eg I've a form which allows the user to upload an image. Before it is all the data and image is stored the user gets a preview of the data and image. When he then pushes the 'Ok' button, the image and data should be stored. The problem is that at that moment I don't have a fileobject anymore... how can I keep my fileobject? Thanks in advance, Tom

What purpose does the compiled files play in the scheme of things? I deleted z2.pyc to see if it would get re-created and the server started without it. I am confused ...

ZCatalog: how to only catalog items with a specific property?
by Philipp Robbel 23 Aug '01

23 Aug '01

Hi fellow Zopists, I'm trying to figure out how to only select certain DTMLDocuments with a specific property into the ZCatalog via the "Find Objects" Screen. On that Find Objects screen there's a field called "expr" .. it somehow works because entering "1 == 1" selected every DTML Document while "1 == 2" selected none. My problem is that I couldn't figure out the valid statement for selecting only Documents with the certain property "NON_CATALOGED" not set. "hasattr(self,'NON_CATALOGED')" did not work... i'm lost, even looking at those source didn't help... Any guru around? Thanks in advance, Philipp Robbel

Listing contents....
by Rustad, Aaron 23 Aug '01

23 Aug '01

I am trying to list all the available 'Portal Folders' in a menu, I am able to do this by using this code: <dtml-in expr="objectValues('Portal Folder')"> <A HREF="&dtml-id;"><dtml-var title><BR> </dtml-in> However, if the current object happens to be a default "index_html" page, the page above won't list because objecValues is working on index_html page....( I hope I am right in my assumptions). Can anyone suggest a strategy to determine if what I am looking at is a leaf document, and how to list the parent 'Portal Folders'. Thanks! Aaron.

Outlook -> Zope help needed
by Loren Stafford 23 Aug '01

23 Aug '01

This is really more of an MS Outlook than an Zope question. I want to provide a view on out Zope Intranet into a special Calendar folder in Outlook on NT4 Terminal Server. It would be sufficient (not to mention easier than doing MAPI programming) to periodically export the Calendar folder to a file, where Zope could read it over the network. Outlook has such an export function, which you can use if you are sitting at the keyboard running Outlook. However, I do not see how to invoke the export function automatically. Does anyone know how to automatically and periodically make Outlook export a folder? -- Thanks -- Loren

Re: [Zope] Getting a specific object in Python from an id string (Was [Zope]: Python method for getting contents of a sub-folder)

> complaw(a)hal-pc.org writes: > > .... > If you mean with an "oid" an "id" as used by Zope as part > of the URLs, then the answer is easy: > > getattr(container/context,id) Okay, lets take an example where a lines property contains a list of id's (not the objects themselves, simply a string representation of the id's). Then to get the url and title properties of a given id in the lines property, could I simply... <dtml-in my_lines_property> <dtml-with expr="getattr(container/context/_.getitem('sequence-item'), absolute_url)"> <A HREF="<dtml-var absolute_url>"> </dtml-with> <dtml-with expr="getattr(container/context/_.getitem('sequence-item'), title)"> <dtml-var title></A><BR> </dtml-with> </dtml-in> ?
