hi all, i have a lot of excel data (poor man's database) and would love to somehow transform them into zclasses (yes, it has to be zlasses) automagically. what would be the best approach to look at ? thx T.

manage_delProperties woes

Hi, I have some code that is suppose to delete DC.* properties from all objects that can contain properties in a folder. Right now it's generating an error. See for yourself by taking out the try and except statements. The next step is to generalize this so that is can recursively go through the site. Changes do not aplie

Hi, I´ve made this product in ZClass, then it was created a distribution for it. Now, when I change something in the source, the changes are not aplied and has no effect on the product at all. I cant figure out what exactly is happen. Do you have any clue? Thanks Luiz Antonio - Brasil

My ignorance here shows, but I guess I just wonder if there was a way to programatically determine if a doc was STX or something else; I mean, I suppose you could write an external method that uses a regex to search/match the body text for the characteristic of stx, but I wish there was something as easy as: <dtml-in expr="objectValues('some meta_type')"> <dtml-var expr="_[id](_.None, _)" fmt=strucutred-text> </dtml-in> ... to iteracte through stx docs, but since there is no meta_type... I am getting a very strange error from one user with any webbrowser that they try to use. On adding/modifying one of my objects they get this error with this traceback. To add more confusion to the situation I have used the exact same versions of the webbrowsers that they are using with and without a squid proxy cache and I can't duplicate that behavior. Actually in about 30 people using the site no one can get that behavior. However, once he causes that error to occur all objects of that type act that way until I hit refresh on the products entry in the control panel page. The problem ends up being is that it goes away for everyone till he tries to use it again. I was wondering if anyong has some ideas, wild guesses etc on where to even look to try and figure out what is going wrong. I would like to give a much more detailed error description but so far I am at a loss since any changes I make to the code reload it and the problem goes away until he uses it again. Zope 2.3.3 python 1.5.2 on Debian linux with 2.4.4 kernel Browsers: Opera 5.0 for Linux - 20010510 Build 024 -[5] Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux 2.2.16-22 i586; en-US; 0.8.1) Gecko/20010421 He has also been using IE, mozilla, and opera 5 for windows though the exact version numbers I have not been able to find out. I am trying to create some user management pages for site administrators (non-programmer types). How do I programmatically add an existing role to an existing user via dtml? I searched the archives with no success. Using Zope 2.2.2 on Linux. P. Johnson

Can't get dtml-in to work!

Hi, this must be a very dumb question, but I can't find the mistake. Anyone seeing why the the following DTML does not work? It does not print anything besides 'Hello', though I created several folders in the one where the document below resides. authentication probelm (take two)

sorry... i accidentally terminated the email message. so, again: i have a python product which inhertis from ObjectManager. i programmatically create instances of this product within itself as they are requested by the user. the problem is that i am getting an 'unauthorized' exception when i try to access index_html of the programmatically created objects. the really odd thing is that it only happens SOMETIMES. i get this: Site Error An error was encountered while publishing this resource.
