zope.org weird management screen pbs

Hello, I'm managing my page at zope;org, ans weird things happens when after changing some properties, adding/mofiying objetcs, i get back to the OLD versions. Multiple reload, clear cache, does have NO effects. I use Opera 5.12 and IE 5.50.4522.1800 Any idea about this ? This seems quite a new behaviour since some days. Didier

Hi, Yes, there is a difference : <dtml-with "_[REQUEST.form['var']]"> put us in the object which has the id : REQUEST.form['var'] ==> the value of var ;-) It works whereas <dtml-with "REQUEST.form['var']"> doesn't. Odd, even, it doesn't matter except for whether the first row is colored or not. Multiple selection property and Zcatalog

Hi, I did a Zclass which has a property called "connection" which I want to be a multiple selection property. How can I access to the value of this property ? If I put <dtml-var connection> I get a list but I can't access to one of the item of the list in particular. I tryed connection[1]... but I only get a char : connection is a string !!! How to index this property in a Zcatalog ? I want to be able to find an instance by quering on one item of this property. I ran across an odd thing on this topic last night... table dtml-in ZSQL_method tr if sequence-odd bgcolor=silver td td td /tr tr if sequence-odd bgcolor=silver td colspan=3 /tr /dtml-in /table The first pass for two rows are colored correctly. Then in the second pass, the first row is correct and the second is not. Then from there on, 3 rows are alternatly correct - not 2! Sort of hard to explain... Does sequence-odd get 'triggered' or something when accessed? Or does the fact of another table row within the same data-row-block have something to do with it? Hello, I am generating a list of objects with different BG color in the TR tag. The code I have now looks like this: <dtml-if sequence-odd> <TR class="MastHead"> <dtml-else> <TR BGCOLOR="#FFFFFF"> </dtml-if> Usually this works in a <dtml-in> sequence but ... We will one list objects that has metatype=Media Manager Show so therefor the code looks like this: <dtml-in "objectValues()" sort="getId" size="19" start=qs skip_unauthorized> <dtml-if expr="meta_type == 'Media Manager Show'"> <dtml-if sequence-odd> <TR class="MastHead"> <dtml-else> <TR BGCOLOR="#FFFFFF"> </dtml-if> Since it only some of the object values that are used I cannot be sure that the bg color of the row-items is set corectly (right now they are all blue). Therefor I thought if I could move the type-check into the <dtml-in> request. Anywho knows how to do this ?? You are heading for alot of code writing in this method. Why not create classes such as: MediaManager CurrentItem OddItem EvenItem and so on covering ALL of the objectTypes you use. Hi Zopers In most of the systems ( specially where we have a server and performanace requirements) we have high end systems with fast disk access. In such system the problem most of the time is the CPU power/RAM/Internet Connection Speeds. If you have a system with a 2-8Mbps your basic bottleneck is at the CPU and RAM side, NOT at the Disc IO side. Lets assume that the total response time is setting up the client/server connection + (How is it in ZServer forks? ) request processing + finding the object in ZODB + Reading the object from ZODB + writing the data to temp file + pushing the file to client In this picture writting the file once more to the file system should not be a big part of the picture. In most systems IO is initiated by the CPU and completed by the hardware (DMA). If your channel to HD can not cope with that you must have the fastest Internet connection on the plannet. So as the last point. I would never ever giveup a consistent implementation if the performance inrease is less then %100. HW is so cheap that spending some days to get thing working may cost you alot more. EventFolder 1.3 problem

Hi, I installed EventFolder 1.3 on a ZOPE 2.3.3 site. When I try to post a new event a password-message pops up and I cannot add the event: (Object: EventDocument_add) Unauthorized: title I looked at the EventFolder FAQ, but all _add methods do have the manager proxy role. I tried to add an event as a manager from the managing screens as well as a "user" of the site. What is going wrong? All comments are highly appreciated! Regards, georg
