Have you been there lately? Many of the links (i.e. How To Generate Random Content) point back to www.zope.org:18200/ which does not exist...can be confusing... Of course removing the port reference does work, but will EVERYONE try that? I usually go back to the starting domain for links I follow; just to see what is there... <story content="true"> I did that the other day with a link I had to an image buried deep in a system. After viewing the picture, I removed the stuff back to the domain name. BANG! The frontpage had been hacked by the Chinese and it dumped a worm virus on my system that McAffee caught and deleted. Difficult question related to creating instances of objects...

This could be considered a difficult question. I want to have a set of objects that interrelate two kinds of information. Call the first one an "issue" and the second one a "paradigm." In a folder, there are mulitple issues and multiple paradigms. Some of the issues go with one or more paradigms. Other issues go with other paradigms. The issue and the paradigm are both ZClasses that I created. This is what I'm after.... Upon calling the issue_addForm, I want to have a list of the paradigms that reside within the calling folder. That way, the owner of the new object merely needs to click on an HTML list box in order to select the different paradigms. Ditto for editing the object. I could have created a set of properties (using the boolean, for example), but this would have made the class specific to a paradigm set. Instead, I want to generalize it so that I can simply add a new folder (with the appropriate index_html, etc.) and then add issue instances and paradigm instances and generate all lists dynamically based upon the content in the file. The bottom-line question is, can I make a list for an HTML list box with the contents of the folder that calls the addForm method? Thanks in advance, Ron

Hi there, We at one point were fiddling with mx from eegenix, for psycopgDA. We found out the hard way that the mx.h headers in the DateTime were being put in a funny place. Perhaps that may give you a clue. I've never heard of putting squid _between_ apache and ZServer, but why not put squid on the outside of your system as to not create extra latency? I think squid is much more advanced than mod_proxy in terms of caching options and raw speed. I am currently setting up a ZEO cluster with nodes running ZServer sitting behind a pair of load-balanced squid caches (the ZEO nodes are also balanced by squid's round-robin features). I am also putting ZServer behind mod_proxy for internal use, so I will have the ability at some point to one day comparatively benchmark all of these. If at some point, I do get around to it, I'll post results to the list. Hello, I was trying to update a ZCatalog within a DTML Method by using DTML and I could not figure it out how to do it. I have the following structure: MyFolder | |--MyDTML_Method | |--MyCatalog within the DTML Method "MyDTML_Method" I would like to update the "MyCatalog" using DTML so I do not need to go in the "Advanced" View of "MyCatalog" and click the [Update] button. dynamically assigning DB-connections to ZSQL-methods ?

I have to make some ZSQL-methods connect to different database-connections based on a cookie, but am experiencing a bit of trouble.. available DB-connections for a ZSQL-method are listed in a select-box only, not as a simple string , so it is troublesome just adding a python-script to return a DB-connection conditionally.... i got this error... external methods, returning objects...argh!

This is the setup: **childLookup (python method):** branches = context.childBranchesLookup(BranchParent = parentBranch) tags = context.childTagsLookup(BranchName = parentBranch) #these above are ZSQL results... result = context.createNodeObj(branchResult = branches, tagResult = tags) return result **createNodeObj (external method, calling createNodeObj):** class _dummy: def __init__(self, name): self.name=name def createNodeObj(branchResult, tagResult): c = [] for branch in branchResult.dictionaries(): c.append(_dummy(branch["BranchName"])) for tag in tagResult.dictionaries(): c.append(_dummy(tag["CVSTagNo"])) return c So the idea is to call childLookup, which passes ZSQL results on to createNodeObj, and createNodeObj generates a list of objects and returns it. I know, I know I could've done it with an external method only...I only learnt that too late. Now I can't work with the resulting list of objects in Zope! for instance: <dtml-in expr="childLookup(parentBranch = 'Main')"> <dtml-var name> </dtml-in> results in: 'Authorization failed. Retry?
