Q: onLoad + onUnload...?
by 3dfestival - WebMaster 30 Apr '01

My prob: I want to make a variable in DTML which counts the user online.... I actually did do it, but in a crappy way: <body onLoad="addUser();" onUnload="subUser();"> and I had made to functions in javscript: function addUser() { self.open('addU', 'counting users'); } function subUser() { self.open('subU', 'counting users'); } and to DTML-methods ===== addU ===== <html><head> <dtml-call "REQUEST.set ('uc, uc+1)"> <script language="javascript"> </script> </head><body></body></html> ===== subU: ===== <html><head> <dtml-call "REQUEST.set ('uc, uc-1)"> <script language="javascript"> </script> </head><body></body></html> ===== and I added a porperty (integer) called uc... It worked fine, but it was very irritating for the users that a new window woukd open and then close every time the went from one place to another.... Now to my Q: Is there some way to do this javascript in DTML or PYTHON....? If so: How...? ( = Stoons = ) - Webmaster @ 3D festival (http://www.3dfestival.com)

Then add a button or menu item to run the macro for your users. Or educate them how to use the "Web folders" feature. -- | Casey Duncan | Kaivo, Inc. | cduncan(a)kaivo.com `------------------>

Image uploading.
by Chris Pedrotti 30 Apr '01

30 Apr '01

Probably a simple solution to this. I have a site where the users should be able to upload an image via a standard html form, and then on submit have it show the image that was just submitted. I can't use the name from the input tag though because it contains the ZPublisher file upload info. Any help is appreciated. Cheers. -Chris

This tells Python not to look at the standard places for its standard library but inside the Zope folder. When you installed Python and Zope independently, then there will probably be no Python library inside the Zope folder. The resulting error message looks exactly like yours.... The easiest way to fix this problem is to make a symbolic link to the correct python library inside Zope's lib folder. E.g., if your Python is installed under "/usr/local", then: "ln -s /usr/local/lib/python1.5 lib in your Zope installation folder your remove the problem. Dieter

It might be that somehow your Zope *installation* is corrupted. I would check this by saving the Data.fs Reinstalling Zope and necessary products from reliable sources. feeding it with the saved Data.fs And see whether the problem remains. > Also, is this common? I have never seen this, although new software versions may introduce new bugs.... Dieter

belen(a)netcom.no writes: > I am trying to return this variable number of lists. > > <dtml-return "(x, y1, y2, y3,...., yn)" > > ... > The matter is that n is not fixed ... You build the list incrementally, like this: <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('myList',[])"> .... <dtml-call "myList.append(x)"> .... <dtml-call "myList.append(y1)"> .... and so on, until you are satisfied with the list. Then <dtml-return myList> Dieter
