Hi there, what's the best way to read a flat file like this line by line and split each line to three variables? 1:menuname:url 1.1:submenuname:url 1.2:submenuname:url 2:nenuname:url 2.1:sub ... background: i'd like to create a global navigation dtml-medthod. Only the configuration file should be replaced depending on the position in the file system. Thank you Marcus

Hi, I Would like edit a MSWord zope object "directly" in IE and save it in Zope. For the moment, I can't save the modified file cause it is read only !! Strange cause this file can be modified as I can read the security. The only solution is to open this file in the "Explorer Web Folder" then edit it. It works good but it too complex for users and for administrators ... I Use Zope-2.3.2, IE-5.5, MSW 10, Server-NT4 and Client-NT4/W95. Is there a bug, a solution, to stay in IE ? FR

Windows ME bug - abrupt reboot

a friend of mine is trying to get Zope 2.3.1 and 2.3.2 (python1.5.2 comes with the Zope distribution) working with Windows ME aka Windows millennium 4.90.3000 he can run python.exe - works. when he runs start.bat, bin\python.exe z2.py -D his machine abruptly reboots he can not get ZOPE working on his Windows ME box. I searched the archives to no avail. Anyway suggestions on how to track down the problem? any help greatly appreciated, ~runyaga

Error starting Zope

Hello, I have now installed Python 1.5.2 and Zope 2.3.1, however when I try to start Zope I get the following error: Built-in exception class not found: EnvironmentError. Library mismatch? Warning! Who is using CFM live?

I just started playing with the CFM 1.0 module and am impressed with it so far. It's a great alternative to Interwoven or Documentum (and it's cost is unbeatable :) ). My question to you folk is who is using Zope and the CFM stuff on a live site (besides the actualy Zope sites). Any businesses using this? I'm looking into using this for our Intranet right now as it's a beaast and is currently being redesigned. Unless you've installed a Zope product called LocalFS or one of its cousins, the "files" in Zope are actually objects in the ZODB. The ZODB itself is a single file called "data.fs," and it usually lives in the var directory. Administrative note: this is the file to back up, with it and a fresh install of Zope you can recreate your entire site. If you removed index_html, then you already know a little about the management interface. Go back in there and create a new DTML Document called "index_html" in the same location as the one you deleted, containing whatever you'd like, and that'll fix your 404. At this stage of the game, you can just put HTML in there and worry about DTML a bit later. Yes, the "_" is not only the default, but necessary. You can't change it to a ".", it confuses Python. Hi, I am generating a number of lists in this way: It is something like this: <dtml-in "[0,1,2,...,n]"> <dtml-let counter=sequence-index lista="'temp_data'+_.str(counter)"> <dtml-call "REQUEST.set(lista, ['content'])"> </dtml-let> </dtml-in> I am trying to return this variable number of lists. <dtml-return "(x, y1, y2, y3,...., yn)" > where y1...yn are the lists that I have to pass to a ZGDChat object. The matter is that n is not fixed, so it can be any number and I cannot see the way of sending this "variable length" sequence of objects. Any ideas? Thanks for your help Belen
