Trying to use the following in a DTML method to change the properties of an xronDTMLmethod <dtml-call expr="UserEvent_TEST.manage_changeProperties( title = 'Modified ' + ZopeTime().strftime('%Y%m%d - %H:%M'), executeAt = timestr, periodDays = 1.0, data = 'Test' )"> running this changes the title property of the parent folder of the UserEvent_TEST method (xron method). Anyone? Thanks Alan Capesius, MCSE/NTCIP+20 http://twsite.bizland.com/techtips.htm

I want it to be false in the case > of acquisition. Most of the time (in all practical cases), if hasattr(folder.aq_explicit, 'index_html'): will work. When you search the mailing list archives for a post "Unexpected acqusition behaviour", you will see some cases, where it will not work. A safe solution is to use "aq_base" (instead of "aq_explicit"). "aq_base", however, is only be allowed in External Methods... Dieter

Python Script that modifies a document property
by Cary O'Brien 11 Apr '01

11 Apr '01

Frustrated... I want to have a python script that, when called from a dtml-document, will modify the properties of that document[1]. How do I get to the document itself? context and container both reference the the folder with the python script in it! -- cary [1] In the long run I want a unconnected (not-in-a-z-class) python script that can do things to a z-class that has properties and acts like a folder and has things in it. I want the script to be able to modify properties based on other properties, and access the sub-objects. Think workflow rules.

Laurent Rathle writes: > I've lost My Zope admin password. Is ther a way to avoid a complete > reinstallation? You can create a new one with the Python script "zpasswd.py" (in your Zope distribution folder). It has a documentation at its start. Call it: python zpasswd.py access Dieter

Re: [Zope] ZCatalog: linking to directory not file in directory?

I do not know of a way to index an object under the content of its "content_html". However, when the search results are interpreted, a trailing "content_html" component can be stripped off. This might give you duplicate hits and the meta data in the catalog do not fit the folder but the "content_html". Dieter

It is not completely usual, but it depends on your browser... You may read the "Authentication" section of URL:http://www.dieter.handshake.de/pyprojects/zope/book/chap3.html Browsers should (but are not required to) send authentication information automatically to any subtree they have got an authentication challenge for. Re: [Zope] Where's the help for LocalFS?

There is a special "LocalFS" mailing list (--> searchable list archives). "LocalFS" was there before the help system. Looks as if it had not yet been upgraded to the new possibilities. Dieter

Zope and Python Developer needed in South-Africa
by Etienne Labuschagne 11 Apr '01

11 Apr '01

Hi all I don't know if this is the correct newsgroup, but it's the only Zope newsgroup we know of. Feel free to point me to a more appropriate forum if I am in error! We have a position open for a developer who knows Zope fairly well and that (obviously) know Python and object oriented methodology quite well (If the person knows Python quite well but not Zope - he is at least teachable!). If the person's got some experience with JavaScript and web design - even better! We run a pure Python and Zope environment with JavaScript limited to functionality that we cannot reproduce with HTML and Zope (eg. zoom boxes). There is no need to mention if you have Visual Basic, VBScript or ASP knowledge - we don't care ;) (although it will not be held against you) Regards Etienne

insane Central Daylight Time, Zope 2.2.2
by Dennis Nichols 11 Apr '01

11 Apr '01

Most of the central US just went to daylight savings time last night and my Zope 2.2.2 installation seems to have decided to use UTC+2 instead of CDT (which is UTC-5). If I telnet into the server and check for the time, Linux gives me the correct date and time. I'll go looking for the problem now, but thought some of you may want to check if you have a similar wrinkle in time. The server is physically in the Eastern US time zone, we run it on Central Time, and I'm currently on Bangkok time (UTC+9). No wonder Zope is confused :-) -- Dennis Nichols nichols(a)tradingconnections.com
