by Bak ＠ kedai 20 Mar '01

hello all before bedtime, i managed to update my dev site from 2.2.5 to 2.3.1b2, to see whether my production sites can run on 2.3.1b2. i followed the http://www.zope.org/Members/mcdonc/HowTos/UpgradeToNewCatalog and everything looks fine. exceprt that there's nothing in the catalog. is that normal? do i have to find items to catalog again? i would think the conversion will keep the current catalog contents. thanks

Change Password (third post) Help
by Daniel Rusch 20 Mar '01

Yes it is in the acquistion path, it is a root level property! I know that is what the problem appears to be, but how can changing a password cause it not to find a root level password??????? Your problem is that it cant find BoxName, is that visible in the Acquistion? -- Andy McKay. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Daniel Rusch" <drusch(a)globalcrossing.com> To: <zope(a)zope.org> Sent: Monday, March 12, 2001 3:28 PM Subject: [Zope] Manage > All, > > Zope 2.3.0 (binary release, python 1.5.2, solaris-2.6-sparc) > Python Version 1.5.2 (#8, Nov 16 1999, 10:05:41) [GCC 2.8.1] > System Platform sunos5 > > We have a page that allows users to change their password it executes > the following: > > > <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('name', login_name)"> > <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('password', password)"> > <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('confirm', confirm)"> > <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('roles', > acl_users.getUser(login_name).getRoles())"> > <dtml-call "acl_users.manage_users(submit='Change', REQUEST=REQUEST)"> > > > The password is changed and the user is taken to a page that notifies > them that their password was changed, but when the user tries to > navigate to any page instead of getting an Authentication dialog, they > get a NameError for a variable that is (or should be) there. > > It is as if the Name Space is lost? This works ok. But Meanwhile I've seen other problems: -There are problems also with TimeStamp/smalldatetime, and even a convert to char(x) still gives an InternalError. -And if a column returns null,i.e, the field is empty, then there is also an InternalError(I remember this null problem was mentioned in the past by the author of zmxodbc). Anton, This is a known bug with Zope 2.3.0. To fix this bug, you will need to upgrade to 2.3.1b1 or 2.3.1b2 or the CVS version. Troy -----Original Message----- From: Anton A. Zotov [mailto:futurb@nh.km.ua] Sent: Monday, March 19, 2001 6:07 PM To: zope(a)zope.org Subject: [Zope] Getting Errors trying to map permissions in Zope 2.3.0 for win32 I'm getting permanent errors trying to map permissions in Zope product created by myself. I seem to do everything right. Could anybody tell me how to avoid the problem ? Please see Zope trace page attached. Thx in advance, Anton.

"region in zregion" evaluates to either 0 or 1. Thus, you call: "Catalog(meta_type='ZClass_seite_press',1)" Not what you want... And Python does it neither... Dieter
