Strange ZCatalog behaviour
by Ingo Wilmer 19 Mar '01

19 Mar '01

Hi Zopistas I experience Problems using ZCatalog, See following example: <dtml-in "Catalog(meta_type='ZClass_seite_press',region=zregion)"> where zregion is one string and region is a list indexd as text when i change this to <dtml-in "Catalog(meta_type='ZClass_seite_press',region in zregion)"> where zregion itself is a list, containing 3 or more strings that should match on some instances of ZClass_seite_presse i can't even get this into zope, because i recive this error non-keyword arg after keyword arg , for tag <dtml-in "Catalog(meta_type='ZClass_seite_presse',region in zregion)"> so, how would i get the goal, searching in ZCatalog with my list as mentioned in the Howtos. Thanks in advance to anybody out there. -- ingo wilmer geschäftsführung tel +49 251 98704-22 | jüdefelder str. 37 | http://www.zeitspringer.de fax +49 251 98704-11 | 48143 münster |

by Bernd Worsch 19 Mar '01

19 Mar '01

Another thing that seems strange to me: When calling <dtml-with SomeFolder> <dtml-call expr="manage_addDocument('SomeDocument','')"> </dtml-with> i get a dtml-method called SomeDocument instead of a dtml-document!! Is this behaviour ok? If yes how can i get documents? Thanks Bernd -- -----Bernd Worsch-----------bernd.worsch(a)frontsite.de--------

Keyword Index Question
by Chris Withers 19 Mar '01

19 Mar '01

Hi, Is there any way I can search a Keyword Index in such a way that it only returns matches that have _all_ the keywords I supply? For Example, I'd like: context.searchResults({'MyKeywordIndex':['Fred','Jones']}) ...to return only catalogued items that have Fred _and_ Jones as keywords in MyKeywordIndex. The above appears to return objects which have keywords of 'Fred' _or_ 'Jones' Any ideas? cheers, Chris

RE: [Zope] Newbee problem
by Farrell, Troy 19 Mar '01

Welcome to Zope. I'm not familiar with the RPM packages, so I can help you little there. It appears as though you are only trying the management interface on port 8080. Try just looking for the Zope page at http://localhost:8080/ You don't need to worry about apache yet, as it is not interacting with a basic zope install. Please let us know the error message you are getting. If it is an authorization error, see my message to another newbie here: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/zope/message/54172 Troy -----Original Message----- From: egbertei [mailto:ricair@pworld.net.ph] Sent: Monday, March 19, 2001 6:13 AM To: Zope(a)zope.org Subject: [Zope] Newbee problem I am absolutely new to Zope. I like to use it, but can not. I can not log into zope. Several days of trying an reading all the documentation available to me have not produced the result of logging into zope. I am therefore trying to obtain some enlightenment here. So please help. My system: I work on a laptop computer with 128MB memory and Pentium III processor. Operating system: Linux Mandrake 7.2. The following packages of zope are installed via RPM: Zope Zope-components Zope-core Zope-services Zope-zpublisher Zope-zserver Zope-ztemplates When the computer starts up there appears a message: Starting Zope [OK]. When I bring down the computer there is a message: Stopping Zope [OK]. The following Zope related files appear in the directory /var/run: pcgi.soc and zserver.pid There is also Apache installed on the computer, starting automatically . When I go to to the local URL http://localhost.localdomain, then the apache webpage appears. There are only error messages when I try something like http://localhost:8080/manage (or various variations of this). To find out whether a different port number applies to my computer, I searched the file /etc/services. I did not see anything which is obviously related to zope. Port 8080 is mapped to webcache 8080/tcp and webcache 8080/udp. Similarly port 80 is mapped to www 80/tcp and www 80/udp. Speicfying http://localhost:80 also brings up the apache webpage. I have tried to disable the apache daemon httpd, but then I can not see the URL. Now my question: what do I need to do in order to be able to get going, i.e. to log into zope to start with. Is this a configuration problem? According to the Zope Content Manager Guide, everything looks so easy, but no information is offered on how to log in in the first place. There is a Zope Administration Guide included with my distribution, but that is only for MS Windows, not for Linux (yet?). Is there any document out there which addresses this problem? Any information that can help me to solve this initial hurdle is highly appreciated. Thanks in advance. UnTextIndex errors
by Chris Muldrow 19 Mar '01

19 Mar '01

Anyone recognize what this error could mean? It's showing up in zopeapp.log over and over and over again. I thought it might be Xron-related, but now it seems to just happen at random--but once it gets started, it goes and goes and goes. 2001-03-19T11:54:26 ERROR(200) UnTextIndex unindex_object tried to unindex nonexistent document 3608

by Bernd Worsch 19 Mar '01

I successfully upgraded to beta2. I ran catalog/manage_convertBTrees. It worked, but my catalog lost all objects. I tried to Find Items. No items found. I completely removed the catalog and recreated another one with the same name. I found a bug - the Undo tab shows operation to undo. That's bad - I don't wnat to undo manage_convertBTrees on newly created catalog. Well, I ran Find Objects. 365 objects found. I performed few test searches. Almost all goes weel, with one bug. by Petr Knapek 19 Mar '01

Hi Zopists, I have a list of user e-mail addresses which is created dynamically. I would like to use <dtml-sendmail> tag to send an e-mail at all addresses in my dynamical list but do not know what the syntax of mailto attribute in sendmail tag shoul be. I have tried: mailto=mail_list (mail_list is list the list of e-mail addresses) but it doesn't work. And when I tried to create To: header dynamically then some error that RCPT is missing has appeared. I use Zope 2.1.6 Any idea, please help me. Hi! I'm having a similar problem, but I don't even get the objects in the Catalog. I must click on Find Objects. And yes, I created the ZClass with CatalogAware Base... (Zope 2.3.0 binary release, python 1.5.2, linux2-x86) Thanks for any help.
