Internal Server Error with Login Manager
by karthick ramanarayanan 09 Mar '01

09 Mar '01

Hi, I had earlier posted a query on using Login Manager with GUS(Generic User Source). I tried using Login Manager with SkinScript and I get the same problem. I get an internal server error while trying to access the LoginManager folder through 'lynx' browser. A dtml-raise in the Login Manager login form, renders a traceback at the bottom of the page, but the problem persists even if I start Zope without the debug flag,to avoid the traceback. If I dont get the traceback,I again get the internal server error. I made use of the HOWTOS,in the zope.org on using Login Manager with GUS,and SkinScript. I still get an Internal Servor Error, when I access the page using Lynx. In Netscape, nothing seems to happen when I try to login using the LoginManager Login Form. It doesnt seem to be referring to the SQL database to authenticate the user. Bye, A.R.Karthick (A.R.K)

No cut, copy, paste, rename with my ZClass instances
by Lars Heber 09 Mar '01

09 Mar '01

Hi there, as I wrote in the heading, I cannot do the above actions with my instances of ZClass. At first, I've got a ZClass NewsContainer, which subclasses ZClasses: ObjectManager. In that NewsContainer I have got a second ZClass NewsItem which subclasses DTML document. I tried to rebuild such a structure with the same inheritances as dummyContainer and dummy, and cut... worked perfectly. Can I set somewhere an option explicitly which I set by accident for my NewsContainer? Note: I create my News Items automatically by evaluating a form... Also the id is taken automatically by a kind of time stamp which results in a nine digit number. Neither can I cut... my News Container nor any of the News Items - so I suspect that somewhere in the News Container ZClass is the problem. I get the following artless error message: The object tickerNews does not support this operation. The same for a NewsItem: The object 984124146 does not support this operation. Any ideas, suggestions, advices etc.? Thanks. BTW: Nobody answered to my posting yesterday: ( http://lists.zope.org/pipermail/zope/2001-March/084989.html ) It was the thing if really only managers can add, edit, delete (i. e. manage) users. This morning I read in a response of Dieter Maurer that he assumed it to be a bug. Is there any fix yet - or will there be one in the nearer future? (btw, our website runs on psycopg from 0.3 onward and we never had any problems.) > For now, I would recommend that you develop using PoPy and build a secondary > test machine using psyco. Re: Zope training in NW-Europe?
by Mark Pratt 09 Mar '01

Hello all, Since there seems to be some confusion about the Zope education and training services offered by beehive --- I'd like give some answers and resolve any confusion. We have a division within our company called "Education & Publishing". this division publishes: - Zope electronic books (ebooks) - regular (print) books in cooperation with several publishing houses in the U.S.A. and Europe (coming soon!) - teaches Zope Courses While our ebooks are "training materials" these have nothing to do with the materials which are part of our Zope courses. (DISCLAIMER: We do usually give course participants a printed copy of a related beehive ebook for free --- but not because it is part of a course) We *do not* sell our course material. This is really a quality issue --- each course is a major investment on our part and we want to make sure that this hard work isn't comprimised by an instructor who has not been trained to properly teach our courses. During the month of April we will release additional information about beehive Zope Courses. Hope this helps. Update URL in SQL
by helmjan＠hotmail.com 09 Mar '01

I have a database which has information about books, and there should be link to the publishers website. When I use SQL -insert all goes fine, but when I want to update records which have URL inserted I get an error. It works if I use html-quote, but then (of course) the link is useless. Can anyone help? container has no security assertions ?!?!

When I try to access the mime type of an uploaded file .... <dtml-boundary type_expr="CVfile.headers.headers[1]" name_expr="CVfile.filename()" disposition=attachment encode=base64> I get this exception... An exception occurred in a DTML method or document. Error type: Unauthorized Error value: Access denied for ['Content-Disposition: form-data; name="CVfile:file"; filename="D:\\Arrivals\\Glossary.doc"\015\012', 'Content-Type: application/msword\015\012'] because its container, <rfc822.Message instance at 20112e0>, has no security assertions. Re: [Zope] Make a Zope object single threaded

Running up and down the hierarchy
by Danny William Adair 09 Mar '01

09 Mar '01

Hello to everybody! Supposed I have an object hierarchy looking like this: the_root------A-----Aa ---Ab(image) ------B-----Ba ---Bb------Bba ---Bbb(DTML document) A DTML document "Bbb" lying in folder Bb wants to access the image in Folder Ab. The only way I know how to do this is <dtml-with Bb> <dtml-with B> <dtml-with the_root> <dtml-with A> <dtml-var Ab> (or do whatever with it) </dtml-with> </dtml-with> </dtml-with> </dtml-with> Of course this sucks. The first thing I thought when I encountered this situation was "I might have to think over my folder structure". I did, but still have this situation in some situations, and for several reasons I want to leave some of my objects as indicated in the figure above(won't change it). Nesting a couple of with's does work, but I would rather like to do something like this: <dtml-with "Bb/B/the_root/A"> (or dtml-path_with...) <dtml-var Ab> </dtml-with> or maybe even <dtml-var "Bb/B/the_root/A/Ab"> (dtml-path_var... resp.) Is there something like this around? I took a look at the PathHandler product, but I don't have enough Zen (yet) for doing some __bobo_traverse__ magic myself (that's the entry point, right?). I guess a self-defined dtml tag that does the with-nesting (running the ladders) would do fine. How am I going to do this? Or are there other ways? I just want to make the dtml more readable (and shorter). Thanks so much in advance, Danny btw: Am I the only one in need for something like this?

Reloading a page.
by Daniel Corrêa de Azevedo 09 Mar '01

Whatz up, guys? Well, I´m having problems in reloading a page that shows information contained in a table of a database. The problem is that whenever I include some data in the database at another page it send´s me back to that page that shows information, it doens´t show the update, but a cached page. I´m using the IE 5.0 and I haven´t figured out how to reload it every time without changing the configuration of the browser. I´ve tryed the same code that I´m using in IE 5.0 in IE 5.5 and this problem doens´t happen. Hope that you all could give me some help. Thank´s, Daniel C. Azevedo
