Zope eating CPU/RAM - how do I find the culprit?

Our production Zope machine has developed a habit over Christmas where it starts eating CPU and RAM (one Python thread on 100% CPU time, and I've seen kernel messages indicating that Zope was killed because it hit an out-of-memory condition which means it sat on ~500Mb RAM). I'm completely in the dark about what causes this (probably some of my own code, I installed some new bits a couple of days ago), but what's worse: I really don't know how to set about finding the problematic code. SiteAccess / SUPPRESS_ACCESSRULE bad (urgent)

Hello, I'm running an Zope website behind an Apache proxy. Because Zope is running on port 9673, some links pointed to this port and the URL showed mydomain:9673... To prevent this, I installed SiteAccess and I put a SiteRoot in the root of my Zope web. I entered: Base: http://www.mydomain.nl/ Path: / Since then I can't access http://www.mydomain.nl/manage. I do get the password-box and frames, but both frames show 'Not Found'. Not Found The requested URL //manage_workspace was not found on this server. Opening the frame in a new window and removing the second / doesn't solve the problem. I looked up the docs of SiteAccess and found setting a environment variable and restarting Zope would help. So I tried that: # SUPPRESS_ACCESSRULE=1;export SUPPRESS_ACCESSRULE # env ... shows SUPPRESS_ACCESSRULE=1 ... # /etc/init.d/zope restart Restarting Zope... done. Unfortunately, the problem is still there. Anybody knows an answer to my problem? I really hope so, it's a live site! Bye, Edwin Martin.

Zope under Irix 5.3 ?

Merry Xmas everybody ! I'm trying to get zope to work on an SGI, Irix 5.3. Python isn't available, so I have to compile it my own being a normal user, not root, with quota and all... anyway. I compile Python (1.5.2), in my home dir with threads and all (as I've read in tyhe how-to's). Then I untar zope (2.2.4) run the -wo_pcgi (I'll be working with ZServer only, so it should be fine), set the superuser password and make the ./start script as follows: reldir=`dirname $0` PYTHONHOME=`cd $reldir; pwd` export PYTHONHOME exec /path-to-my-python-installation/bin/python \ $PYTHONHOME/z2.py \ -w 8000 "$@" Then go to my zope dir and ./start... but it doesn't work :-( That's what I get: Traceback (innermost last): File "/my-home-dir/zope/z2.py", line 554, in ? exec "import "+MODULE in {} File "<string>", line 1, in ? [BUG] calling a constructor crashes Zope

While developing a product I encountered the following fatal problem. I added a stupid class declaration to my product: class AJFile: def __init__(self): self.d = {} Inside a function of the product I call "AJF = AJFile()". Zope/Python call __init__() but crashes before the initialisation of self.d (a debugging message before self.d={} is always the last life sign). Zope completely crashes in this situation. However I have no idea how get solve this problem. I do not see a core dump nor any debugging or error messages on stdout/stderr. The problem occurs with Zope 2.2.4 and 2.3alpha1 (Linux i386). Any ideas for further debugging ? Andreas
