DTML images and IE Method
by Peter Bengtsson 12 May '00

12 May '00

I use IE Methods a lot (to impress laymen of Zope's ease of use), but I have problems with adding images. If I insert an image with the WYSIWYG-editor it is saved with a absolute url (C:\Somewhere\not\on\server\). I prefer using the Image object, with its benefits, but if I manually type in <dtml-var image_name_jpg> (I can _view_ it), and go to Editor mode; the image disapears and when I look at the resulting code it has been changed to <DTML-VAR image_name_jpg> Is there any way of preventing this? Solutions?

User as Base Class?
by Chris Withers 12 May '00

12 May '00

Hi, I'm creating a ZClass to store information about a user account (contact details, email address, address, phone number, etc) and I was wondering if there was any way that I could have 'user' as a base class so I could actually use my Account objects as user objects (ie: as users in acl_users)? I tried putting 'User' as one of their base classes but that still doesn't let me add them into the acl_users folder. Any ideas? Chris

jcntuserfolder question
by Mabe, Brad 12 May '00

12 May '00

Hello all, I am attempting to use jephte's jcNTUserFolder product and am having a few problems (I'm a Zope newbie). Is it possible to assign local roles to users from other NT Domains? I have created an NTUserFolder at the top level of my site, and have created users under the "Users from other NT Domains" tab. When I attempt to assign local roles to users on any of the subfolders within my site, I can only see users for the local domain (box that is running the Zope server) in the select list. Any help will be greatly appreciated. ------------------------------------------------ Brad Mabe SAIC - Hampton bradley.d.mabe(a)cpmx.saic.com

ZCatalog: Why does this work?
by Curtis Matthews 12 May '00

12 May '00

The Advanced ZCatalog Searching HOW-TO on zope.org covers how to query ZCatalogs for objects within certain ranges of dates, but it only shows how to do it using bobobase_modification_time. Specifically, to grab items modified in the last 14 days, it suggests <dtml-in "Catalog(bobobase_modification_time=_.DateTime(date), bobobase_modification_time_usage='range:min')"> That's all well and good, but it told me nothing about using ranges with other date FieldIndexes in ZCatalog. For example, I have a ZCatalog full of ZClasses with parameter 'date' FieldIndexed. Not expecting this to work, I tried: <dtml-in "Catalog(date=_.DateTime()-30, date_usage='range:min')"> ...and blimey if it didn't work! What's happening here? Does indexing a date create a method called {NAME}_usage? If so, how in the world does it do this? Just curious, Curtis Matthews

Re: [Zope] textarea too small? here's my hack
by Peter Bengtsson 12 May '00

12 May '00

I want to change the amount of rows the textarea changes with in Zope to a smaller number. Where do I do that? By clicking "Taller" or "Shorter" the page obviously "recompiles" with a different number or rows for textarea. By looking at the HTML source in the management view, one click on "Taller" increases row="20" to row="25" I want it to change from 20 to 22 only. Ideas? --- Marco Mariani <m.mariani(a)imola.nettuno.it> skrev: > In OFS/documentEdit.dtml, move > > <TR> > <TD align=left> > <INPUT NAME=SUBMIT TYPE="SUBMIT" > VALUE="Change"> > </TD> > <TD align=left> > <INPUT NAME=SUBMIT TYPE="SUBMIT" > VALUE="Taller"> > <INPUT NAME=SUBMIT TYPE="SUBMIT" > VALUE="Shorter"> > <INPUT NAME=SUBMIT TYPE="SUBMIT" > VALUE="Wider"> > <INPUT NAME=SUBMIT TYPE="SUBMIT" > VALUE="Narrower"> > </TD> > </TR> > > before the previour TR tags, and the buttons will > appear before the > textarea. > > > _______________________________________________ > Zope maillist - Zope(a)zope.org > http://lists.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope > ** No cross posts or HTML encoding! ** > (Related lists - > > http://lists.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope-announce > http://lists.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope-dev ) > > > _____________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? UserDB Vs. GUF
by Paul Abrams 12 May '00

12 May '00

Hello, We are currently using UserDB for authentication. It is simple and meets our needs. Are there any compelling reasons to switch to the much-newer GUF? Are there any security holes in UserDB that GUF may have fixed? What are other people using? Thanks, -Paul __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? RE: [Zope] accessing objects through variables
by Andy Pahne 12 May '00

12 May '00

yes, that is possible: let's say you have a variable named obj_to_show which holds the name of the object to show then you simply type <dtml-var _[object_to_show]> note the slight difference between the above and <dtml-var _['object_to_show']> the last one would render the variable oblject_to_show. progromattically keeping a zcatalog updated
by josh on 12 May '00

12 May '00

I am not even sure if it is the zcatalog that is the problem. I add new instances of a class through dtml, then I go to a page which displays them, but sometimes the instances don't show up until I manually force the zcatalog to update. I have been using this: <dtml-call reindex_object> but I am not sure that it is right or maybe I am just using it incorectly josh oN
