UserLDAP & LDAPAdapter

Hi Zopers! I've tested this products and all is working ok with filters. I've problems with authentication with both products. With both products I get an error somewhere in "<user> exception on connect". The products see the users but are not able to authenticate. This problem happens both with mssiteserverldap and openldap. So I think the problem is with the fact that I'm testing this on a winNT. Since both products use the ldapmodule(.pyd and .ddl files), I'm starting to believe there is something wrong with my modules(I'm using the binary versions). The Ldap server's structure are ok, so... :-( Did anyone experienced this problems using this products on NT? Does anyone have any compiled modules different than the ones available that I can use to test. Thanx. filling selection lists
by Harald Ragger 11 May '00

Hi all! I want to fill a selection list depending on the selection of a first selection list (both selection lists are filled via sql-methods). E.g. you choose topic "abc" from list one and list 2 changes dynamically. whats the best way to realize this? Thanks in advance Harald

I just checked in a patch from the Collector which does this, while also enabling *multiple* rename. RE: [Zope] ODBC client for Zope on Linux/Unix
by Webmaster 11 May '00

I can't speak for how it would work with zope, but EasySoft has and ODBC-ODBC-Bridge. The server portion installs on the NT and the client on the Linux. This allows PHP, ColdFusion, etc to access the local ODBC driver (the client) and it remotely connects to the datasource on the NT. http://www.easysoft.com -- We have not yet purchased the bridge yet, but the 30 day demo works nice (again... we have not tested it with zope). This sounds more like you need a Python product: Python products typically declare and implement functions and classes, and register them for use/derivation by objects in the ZODB. Python code is more regularly behaved, and easier to work with, inside products, than in external methods. I was waiting for that response! I'd be happy to share any marketing language I come up with. I was successful in getting Zope up and running already, I just need to continue my journey for Zope Zen. >(Oh, if you post to the Zope-PTK list, please set your mail client to >break lines at 60 or 78 characters. I just switched from Netscape mail to Eudora and didn't enable the breaks since most of my [non-technical] correspondents are using Outlook. Believe it or not, I used to get complaints from them that my breaks make it harder to read since they can resize the window and make it look all funny. When I have breaks on, it gives an unprofessional appearance when emailing to non-technical people, and vice versa if I don't use breaks. It's tough trying to make everyone happy. 8-/ Again, thanks for your input! memory usage

I take that last bit back: when I first (re)start it, Zope uses about 32MB, both size and resident set. So where is the extra 60MB (actually 140MB) coming from if it isn't from the cached objects? manage_debug reported 200 some odd ExtensionClass objects as the top refcount shortly after the cache was cleared. --RDM
