You won't be able to use some SQL Server 7 features if you use the Sybase adaptor, but the standard stuff should work fine. Once freetds is thread safe, it should also be useful. Anthony

Accessing module functions and variables

Hi, Is it possible, from isnside Zope, to access to functions and variables that are defined in a module used to create a Product? I'm not speaking about external methods but a module that could be use for example to also define classes. I have seen register*Class for various classes in ProductContext, but nothing specific for functions or variables. Thanks

Zope install & ./start problem...

Hello, I just installed Zope but can't get it to start properly. installing PIL and Photo

I installed Zope 2.1.6, the product called Photo, a full version of Python 1.5.2, and PIL on a RedHat 5.2 system. When I bring up Zope, the product Photo says it is broken (in the Product Management page in the Control Panel). The traceback shows the following: Traceback (innermost last): File "/usr/local/zope/lib/python/OFS/Application.py", line 387, in import_products product=__import__(pname, global_dict, global_dict, silly) File "/usr/local/zope/lib/python/Products/Photo/__init__.py", line 42, in ? import Photo File "/usr/local/zope/lib/python/Products/Photo/Photo.py", line 87, in ? from PIL.Image import BICUBIC, BILINEAR, NEAREST ImportError: No module named PIL.Image I followed the instructions in PIL. I created a directory called site_packages in /usr/lib/python1.5, copied the PIL directory to there (/usr/lib/python1.5/site_packages/PIL), put a PIL.pth file in /usr/lib/python1.5/site_packages which has one line ("PIL") I removed the zope/bin/python file, and changed the start file to use /usr/bin/python Now if I execute python and do this.... Any comments on Zope and the Intel Linux setup vs the Cobalt setup? ODBC and MS SQLServer Problems

I am trying to get Zope to play nice with MS SQL Server. They are both installed on the same Compaq Proliant server. I can create my database, make it accessible through ODBC and then add a ODBC Connection in Zope by picking my ODBC connection from the list. I can then use the connection just fine for SELECTs and UPDATEs for a little while (30 mins to an hour). However, eventually I get the following error: Error Type: sql.error Error Value: ('S0002', 208, "[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Invalid object name 'users'.") where 'users' is a table name. Up until this point, it was accessing 'users' just fine, and I can still run queries on it from the SQL Query Analyzer app so I know the table is there. My only option at this time seems to be to delete the whole database and create it again and recreate the tables. This isn't acceptable if this system is to actually be used. Can anyone who has gotten SQL Server and Zope working post explicit instructions. Or better yet, let me know what is causing the above error. Thanks. -- Guy Davis http://www.ualberta.ca/~davis/

How do I download the results of a large Query

I would like to set up a link to some SQL query results in comma delimited ascii that will download the data rather than display it. I am having two problems. First the data is coming up in the browser and I want them to download it without having to right click and select download. Second, before the SQL is completed the browser times out.
