Trust the result you see with your own eyes. :) A good many people in the list have said this repeatedly: try it first, before posting. I think it's a little bit too much to ask everyone to do that every time, but this is a responsible mailing list and not some flame-loaded newsgroup. Silly newbie question

I'm sure this is simpler than I'm making it out to be, but here goes... I'm looking at using SquishDot as a 'home page' for our Intranet, but can't seem to make its index_html show up as the default document. What I'd like is for a user to be able to point his or her browser at "http://www.mysite.com" and get SquishDot, outisde of setting up a redirect. is there a way I call only one particular directory instead of all the folders under the root directory. what would I use instead of 'PARENTS' Let's say FUN directory under the root thanks -jon

Note to list: I have responded to this request. I will see if I can find some ftp space to "mirror" the current worldpilot version. Can I do this from zope.org? Methods in a Simple Class

Hi all, I have built a trivial ZClass : CD (from CDProduct, from the guides). I try to add a DTML Method "render_short". This method would render the CD Instance on one short line. My ZClass has simple attributes (artist : string, title : string, description : text) I would like to be able to write this simple "render_short" DTML method like : Artist : <dtml-var artist> Title : <dtml-var title> Descr : <dtml-var description fmt="structured-text" newline_to_br> But when I insert a <dtml_var myCDInstance> in my index_html, I got a exception : Error Type: KeyError Error Value: artist There is no typo in my code... How can I access to my ZClass instance attribute from inside its methods ? Please help me :) Olivier

I can confirm and reproduce this problem, and on a totally different architecture - Red Hat Linux system with Zope 2.1.4. Here's a snippet from my /var/log/messages file: Mar 8 10:14:18 akpi ZServer[24689]: 127.0.0.1- - [08/Mar/2000:18:14:18 -0700] "GET /manage" 401 1782 Notice that the timestamp from the syslog facility is the correct local time, March 8 10:14:18, which is Pacific Standard Time. On the very same line, the timestamp passed to the syslog from Z2 is in GMT, 08/Mar/2000:18:14:18 -0700. My guess is that Zope isn't picking up the $TZ environment variable. What I don't get is why it's showing GMT as 18:14:18 -0700. That would imply a local time of 11:14:18. I think it should be 18:14:18 -0800 right now, and -0700 during daylight savings time. You are ALMOST ALWAYS better off using the <dtml-with ...> tag, something like <dtml-with test2> <dtml-var a_something_inside_test2> </dtml-with> Or in the more general case of many layers <dtml-with "FolderA.SubFolderB.SubSubFolderC.test2"> <dtml-var methodA> </dtml-with> This pushes test2 onto the namespace stack. So your methodA can still access objects inside the SubSubFolderC. ------------------------------------------------ Use the dotted notation, e.g: <dtml-var "F1.SF2.methodA(_.None, _)"> only if you don't need any objects from the subfolder F1.SF2 during the call.
