An image is. <dtml-var myObjRef> If it's not renderable, you'll end up with something like "<Folder instance at 01368880>" in the HTML page source code. Does it work for you? <dtml-var aaa> vs. <dtml-var "aaa"> question

can anybody explain me why the following is happening: if i have a DTML Method m1 in the folder f1/f2/m1 and i write <dtml-var f1.f2.m1> this does not work. AFAIK the `.' operator needs to much priviledges in this context. <dtml-var "f1.f2.m1"> works, but the DTML output is not rendered, but displayed as text like: <standard_html_header><h2>........ so i'm using this construct for now: <dtml-with f1> <dtml-with f2> <dtml-var m1> </dtml-with> </dtml-with> My question is why's <dtml-var "f1.f2.m1"> not rendered?

newbie tree q - how collapse and expand

I'm getting better but stil learning. I want to collapse/expand a tree at will so that I can come in from particular hyperlinks to a known tree state. I know there are two variables I can set but I don't know how to do this from code. For example how could I have a hyperlink whose HREF is a page containing a tree in such a way that when you get there the tree gets collapsed while another link to the same page doesn't collapse it. Can someone show me some code that dows this please. I've never used Caldera's distribution, but if it's anything like Red Hat, the following should work: 1) Open /etc/ld.so.conf with your favorite text editor and append the directory in which libmysqlclient is located. 2) Run 'ldconfig' This will update the list of directories that the linker searches. I know this is a stupid question, but if I run: ln /usr/local/include/mysql libmysqlclient.so.6 what will the link be called, and where will it be located? How will this help the build.py script? I wish one of the programmers would clear up this Zope/MySQL confusion. I wonder if Alanprog could help out by simplifying the installation. As I am a newbie I would love to fix it but it way over my head. Ok, about your problem, this is where I also got stuck. Here is my solution. I reinstalled linux (probably didn't need to but I did) I used an older version of MySQL ver 3.22.27 and installed ZOPE, PYTHON, MYSQL from the source. I made sure that I also installed the python development stuff. I then used the the same procedure and viola the darn thing worked. Can't tell you anymore. Well, use can try using a link # ln /usr/local/include/mysql libmysqlclient.so.6 and see if it can now find the libraries/files it needs. Are you sure that the Setup.in path is correct? I looked at both these files build.py and MySQLdb.py they both refer to libraries and their respective location. Anyway good luck and if you get an answer, please let me know also. I am curious what O/S your are using and why you choose it. I probably going to change over to mandrake linux for security reasons. Multiple paths to same documents

I'm new with Zope. One thing I'm looking for how to do is the effect that one document might virtually be stored in multiple folders. For example, if I keep a hierarchy of folders that is an archive of articles, maybe stored chronologically in a folder for each month or something like that. But then I also want those same articles to appear in other folder hierarchies, categorizing and organizing them in various ways. And I don't just want to put duplicates of the document in there. I'd like that if somebody updates the original, the virtual documents in the other folders update too. Is there some obvious DHTML statement or trick I don't know about yet? Or a Product that does something useful about this? Essentially I'm looking for an equivalent to symbolic or hard links to files in a Unix file system. - Flemming o / \------------------ Flemming A. dynamically changing a tree icon?
