Hi-Does anyone know if you can you can alter the user registration process in plone and zope to create extra user entry fields? Basically altering the zope database.

FTP Failures on new install

I've having trouble getting FTP working on a new Zope install. All other Zope functions appear normal, but I'm unable to transfer files _to_ Zope via FTP. I can use FTP to download files from the Zope server and can create new directories on the server. But attempts to transfer files to the server all result in "426 Error creating file" errors. > ftp> put test.html > 200 PORT command successful. > 150 Opening ASCII connection for test.html > 426 Error creating file. The problem is not a firewall problem; I can reproduce it with local ftp sessions and with no firewall in place. I've tried several Zope versions from 2.6 to 2.7.7. All have the same problem. Common to the attempts is that they were all source builds with Python version 2.3.3 (#1, Mar 10 2004, 06:42:32) [GCC 3.3.2] on Solaris 10 on a dual-Opteron Sun V20Z. I'd be happy to update the Python version if anyone thinks that might cure the problem. Thanks! Steve McMahon

Nothing in undo list

I created a folder and added a acl_users. When a user from this acl_users logs in and manipulates things in Zope and Plone he can not see anything in the undo_list. If I enter as a user that is declared in the root acl_users he can see and undo all the manipulations. Both of this users are managers. What could be the reason for this.? What sould I do that everyone can undo his/her modifications? thanks Robert

Installation of login_html Fails

Greetings, All- (thanks for all the help and tips from the list in the past...) The setup: I have created an internal web site that allows people in my organization to add and edit their own personal page. The problem is in installing into their folder (containing index_html, etc.) a login script (login_html) *programatically.* The steps: 1. Users create their personal folder and login userid and password as Anonymous Users as a role named "Friends." An "acl_users" user folder correctly installs. 2. A login_html method should then be automatically installed to the folder, in addition to a boilerplate "index_html" (this is installed correctly). 3. The index_html file acquires property values and other objects from the user entered information. 4. If the user wants to edit their page, they click "Edit," which should call "login_html." They enter their userid and pwd and editing is permissible. The problem is #2: I cannot figure out what permissions to give folders/objects that will allow Zope to add the login-html file programatically. (The above steps work perfect for the "Manager" role.) A login screen appears that refuses to accept any userid and pwd (except my "Manager" role's), the error message is: "Error Type: Unauthorized Error Value: You are not allowed to access login_html in this context Here is the python code called to add the boilerplate login_html to the newly created folder: **************************** id=userid doc = getattr(personal_folder,id) copy_info = container.personnel.personnel_temp.manage_copyObjects('index_html') doc.manage_pasteObjects(copy_info) copy_info = container.personnel.personnel_temp.manage_copyObjects('login_html') doc.manage_pasteObjects(copy_info) **************************** I'm stumped, tried changing every permission can think of, doesn't work. In case anyone is interested, using the python code below won't copy the file unless the "View" Security permission on "login_html" is turned on for Anonymous... Then to protect the page from other Anonymous visitors, I have to manually turn off the "View" Security settings of "login_html" after it's copied into the user folder. What a pain, anyone got a better way with some code? Thanks for reading! NauSchduler problem

I'm using NauSchduler to automate sending a news digest out twice daily to users of our site. The digest simply has the Subject of the news item and the URL to item on our site. The Script Python that sends the digest works fine when tested alone, but when I run it from NS the URL, gotten from obj.absolute_url(), is replace with the physical path. I see many calls to getPhysicalPath() in the NS source. But, I don't understand why it would overwrite my URL. Has anyone else seen this behavior? BTW, this is the first problem I've had with this product. It's been great for other scheduled tasks. Barry Drake
