acl_users password changes?

has anybody got a code snippet for letting users change their own passwords in an acl_user folder? maybe with some form html code too? :) i am using the stock User Folder objects. i think i could probably write the code (on my very very shaky zope sea legs), but i was having some trouble figuring out exactly what the correct method to call was. and what the correct object/namespace, etc, is. :( this all feels very complicated to me right now. i am a total newbie who knows how to set up zope and install products. that's about it. i am doing this inside a private squishdot site i'm running for around 50 people. at this point, they can log in and do their thing, but there's no way for them to change their own passwords. and that's one of the "big" features we really do need. from what i understand the PTK will probably take care of most of this, but we aren't there yet... its not out, and i just need to do this one little simple thing anyway. :) many thanks in advance to all those who can assist! thanks! elijah wright elw(a)stderr.org

newbie tree code problem

ok, the plan was to be able to make parts of the tree visible/non-visible by setting a boolean on the node. With this structure lists + another feedback + sillytest With a boolean visible=false on sillytest my code (below) produces feedback - another (the titles of these anyway). That is, I get a hole where sillytest goes, obviously because the +/- for the node is produced when visiting the inner part of the <dtml-tree ...> before the <dtml-if>. How can I get around this? It seems to me that there must be some expression I can put in the <dtml-tree ...> part otherwise there could be no general solution. What expression would work? NT Authentication?

I'm currently running Zope & ZServer on a FreeBSD 3.3 machine, and would like to be able to authenticate users via the NT server on our LAN. Is that currently possible? Is it even feasible? OK folks, this is not an official press release, but I thought you all would like to know that there is yet another Zope site up an running out on the net. http://www.netaid.org Netaid is a new, long-term effort to use the unique networking capabilities of the Internet to promote development and alleviate extreme poverty across the world. The Netaid Foundation serves as a global exchange point to link people to successful agents and agencies of change. Netaid's mission is to use the powers of the Internet to help the millions of men, women, and children who live on the edge of survival. Our goal is to connect all those who share these common values to promote the useful exchange of ideas, challenges, resources, and success stories. Netaid works to: Facilitate community building, direct communications, and coordination among the millions of people dedicated to these aims. ZClass

Hi, I'm trying to use the Z Class to make something. I already have looked into the Z Classe tutorial but I didn't understand how am I going to aplicate the Z class to solve my problem. What I'm doing is some kind of a addressBook. It would show a form for the user fill the fields with the name and surname, the address, the zip code, the city, the home phone, the celular phone and the birthday date. When the user puch the Add button it should send the information to a DataBase. The one that I'm using is the Gadfly database, but I'm having some problems to create the table, because I already create one but I can't delete that one, but its ok. Another problem that I'm having is that I can't insert the data from the fields in the table, so I can't list the records that are in the table to the user could see who is in. Do you think that Z Class would help to solve my problem? If so, how? Please, I would like that if you know how to help me, to be quiker, because I need it for today. Custom Formats

I'm interested in creating a custom format similar, but more limited, than the structured-text format. Is there a way to accomplish this without hacking on the base Zope code? From the description I found in the Zope documentation, it says that the value of a custom format is the "method name evaluated upon the object to be inserted". If I'm accessing a DTML_method wouldn't this mean that I would have to add something to DTML_Method (or create my own subclass?) Is there a better way to accomplish this task? What I'm trying to do is provide a way for my user to enter textual information without requiring the use of HTML. I want visible paragraphs to be translated into <p></p> delimited paragraphs, standard URL specifications to get translated into real links, and I want to provide a small number of additional formatting options. Any ideas on good ways to accomplish this task would be appreciated. Thanks. James W.
