DTML method arguments?

Hello. I am very new to Zope. I am wondering if DTML provides a brief argument-passing syntax which is equivalent to the following: <dtml-let name="'John'" age="'18'"> <dtml-var describe_person> </dtml-let> For example, it might look something like this: <dtml-var describe_person(name="'John'" age="'18'")> Thanks in advance, John-Paul Gignac

I am using this simple code to make a little navigation bar <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('localid',id)"> <dtml-in "PARENTS[0].objectValues(['DTML Document'])"> <dtml-unless "title == ''"> <dtml-if "localid == id"> <dtml-var title_or_id> <dtml-else> <a href="<dtml-var id>"><dtml-var title_or_id></a> </dtml-if> </dtml-unless> </dtml-in> It is intended that the title of the current page is bolded instead of linked. Unfortuneatly the <dtml-if "localid == id"> does never seem to match! When I insert a control output like this: '<dtml-var id>':'<dtml-var localid>' I can _see_ that there should be a match! That's easy... but I want to include it from a different folder than the one i'm currently in. For example... In index_html in my Squishdot folder, I want to "include" a "Poll" module in the page. Here's the hierarchy... + root - index_html + Squishdot - index_html + Poll - index_html So in my root/Squishdot/index_html, I want a statement like <#var Poll/index_html> but this of course gives a server error... it apparently doesn't understand the / I gave it. Is there some other #include statement that I should be using? Or is there some trick to using #var? The documentation is so random, I can't find such a basic description of how to do what I need! call SQL method

Hi, for me to call a SQL Method from a DTML all I have to do is: <dtml-call "sqlmethodname"> or I have to tell the parameteres of that sqlmethod? The SQL Method that I'm trying to call insert information in a table. The code that I have in that SQL Method is: INSERT INTO Registos (nome, apelido, morada, localidade, casa, telemovel, data_nasc) VALUES ('<dtml-var fname>', '<dtml-var lname>', '<dtml-var address> <dtml-var fzip>-<dtml-var restzip>', '<dtml-var localzip>', <dtml-var home_phone>, <dtml-var cel_phone>, '<dtml-var data_nasc>' ) The arguments are: nome apelido morada localidade casa telemovel data_nasc This arguments are the columns of the table. The variables fname, lname, address, and so on, are the variables of a form in a DTML document. Re: Zope Documentation Plan : two words......great news !! A minor suggestion .... docs for contributed products...having used many of the user-contributed products, I have encountered variable quality of docs (i.e. "ranging from here it is, you're on your own now" to some very nice docs). Maybe a set of guidelines or a template for docs for user-contributed products would also be useful. hope this helps. Darcy

Zope crash when download big file

Hi Zopists! I've a zip file(10Mb) in zope, and when I request to download that file, after sometime zope dies. I've read some things related with ftp crash, but "my" crash is happening from an http request. I'm using zope 2.1.2(binary release, python 1.5.2, linux2-x86) . Any help? Thanx! Stop zope from adding <html><head></head> to my method

Hi, I have a method in my product called getXML which builds an XML file from subtree. However, zope keeps adding the text <html><head></head> to the start of my xml, how do I stop it? best, Jacob
