Hi, I am creating a Python Product for Zope. I have a container object that contains a number of objects. I want these objects to inherit a number of attributes from the container, with the objects specific values. If an attribute is added at the container level, the objects should pick up this new attribute. This is the functionality supplied by Property Sheets in ZClasses, however I feel more comfortable developing my product as a whole from a lower level. So I would like to graft a Property Sheet into my Product, however I am having trouble working out the details. Has anyone done anything similar? I'm going through the ZClass code, but not having had much experience with Python classes, it's heavy going. Has anyone got any advice or pointers to code or documentation?. cookie problem

Hi, I am having problems trying to set a cookie when the cookie is a pickled object. It appears to be a problem when the string representation of the pickled object containes carrage returns. ...setCookie seems to barf in this situation. Anyone else had problems with this and/or found work arounds? Accesscontrol on dynamically created objects

Hello, I have an objectfactory which return dynamically created objects. These objects are returned as object.__of__(objectfactory, object) to maintain some of the acquisitio magic. But it seems that those objects doesn't have any accesscontrol (the class inherits the RoleManager class) on them... any ideas ?? Question on Folder Structure strategy...

I have noticed strange behavior when browsing my web site as I build it. For example, take this structure: \-- \Folder1 \Folder2 \Folder3 I make a web page with an index on the left side for ALL PAGES Folder1 Folder2 Folder3 Which are links of the form <a href="Folder#">Folder#</a> If I consecutively click through these links, the browser shows my current page as follows <Click> Folder1, http://Folder1 <Click> Folder2, http://Folder1/Folder2 <Click> Folder3, http://Folder1/Folder2/Folder3 This is NOT what I intend, nor will the second or third work if bookmarked that way. What am I doing wrong??? Thanks in advance for your assistance.

| I installed the Portal Tool Kit in my Zope directory (2.1.1), and then | tried to import ZopeOrg.zexp... [snip] To quote Paul Everitt during his talk at 8IPC, "the portal tool kit does not work right now. Don't use it." There was no firm date for release of one that does work but I think he said something about it being ready in February or March. I could be wrong as it was bloody cold up there any my mind hadn't quite defrosted for his talk. They did show a pre release PTK that was awfully nice. It removed a lot of the complexity of the standard Zope interface that drives non technical users nuts. I don't think my granny could use it but maybe my mum could be shown how in about 20 minutes. The PTK seems to be something that everybody has been bleating for and DC has been promising for a while. It seems that they're deadly serious about putting one out Real Soon Now. Otherwise showing it during Paul's session would be a bit on the silly side. Cheers, Jules

Hello, I am somewhat new to Zope and I want to upload images via multipart forms. I found a description which is explainig uploading via forms from a developers point of view, but I need some hints for dummies here... http://www.zope.org/Members/sabaini/externalfiles-howto There are two pieces: a pyton script and a DTML method I put the python script into the Extensions folder of my zope installation and created a External method -- with what function? Like I said, I don't think he reads the list. Besides, I give him grief about Oracle all the time, and he takes it in good humour. I think the core of the problem is that there are something like 3000 consultants in his department. Imagine trying to maintain a consistent level of quality with that large of a pool of employees. That said, I find that independant oracle consultants are just as bad. I have never once been tempted to use oracle for anything, due to the unbelievable added time of development and increased cost of maintenance. Jim, if you are out there... PTK bug?

I installed the Portal Tool Kit in my Zope directory (2.1.1), and then tried to import ZopeOrg.zexp (which I'd first moved to the import dir), but it didn't work. I didn't see any new entry under Available Objects either (is it supposed to?!).
