DCOracle works against 8i. You just have to fiddle the Setup script to get the link libraries right. It doesn't use some of the new neato whizzbang 8i features, but if that sort of early-adopter stuff is what you need, that's where you pay them to add it. Shadow password

I would like to authenticate users from the UNIX system. Unfortunately, my system uses shadow passwords which are not world readable so I can't use the etcUserFolder product. I understand the security implications of this next question but is there any way to authenticate users but from a shadow password file? Or is there a better way of doing things? Is there any way of using the PAM system perhaps? it's a bug on my part - edit the sqlDeleteValue method and make a default value for name of "" - ie change the arg list to name="" is fixed in local code, should be part of 0.3.0 (out this weekend, all things going well). Just started messing around with SQLSession, and have come across something I don't understand. If I call SESSION.clear(), Zope reports a BadRequest exception with the value as ['name']. Does SESSION.clear() NOT clear an entire session, can it only be used to clear specific names within the session? Thanks. -- Stand Fast, tjg. DTML "method"?

What is the elegant (read: correct) way to "pass arguements" to a DTML method? This must be a simple question, but I've been reading docs for weeks, and although I know there are hundreds of ways to acquire properties, grab SQL, etcetera, I can't find the simple tutorial of how to do something like: My site has four sections. I want to have a 'section' dtml method that takes a name and a description, that I call like this: <dtml-var section-header name="Authors" description=""" Go here for an in-depth description of what's required to become an author, licensing agreements, and the Authoring section (requires password) """ > <dtml-var section-header name="Developers" description=""" Go here for open source software such as Twisted Reality. """ > ... and so on and so forth. It would be nice if, based on a naming convention, I could have the dtml "section-header" method figure out what the appropriate graphic to insert... Mostly I want repetitive table formatting taken care of though, but without having to special-case all the actual content. Simple ZCatalog Question

If I have an object with a boolean property and I want to find all objects in my catalog which do *not* have this property, how do I formulate the catalog search parameters? I've tried: Catalog(meta_type='something', booleanProperty='false') and Catalog(meta_type='something', booleanProperty=0) and a couple of other variations. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
