Can't import (some things)

missing properties?

Excuse my ignorance, as I am new to this whole thing. I am trying to setup, as an example, an "image with description" object. I followed the zClass tutorial as a guide. I used image as my base class and added a property 'description' of type text to the MyImage_info propertysheet. Everything seems to go well until I try to make an instance in a folder.I get an error. Of course when I see the Form it makes sense, since the form just gives an id field but not the familiar image file input box. The form (MyImage_addForm) has been created as if this is a simple object with just an id. I tried copying the form from an image add screen and that got me further.(see MyImage_addForm2) but the properties get lost. Have I missed something? How do I see the other properties or at least add them to my class? Product module reloading

First off, Zope is amazing. It is a wonderful environment to work in. I am new to Python, Web Applications and Zope, but researching the other options (php3, Java, etc) I am glad to have found Zope. I have spent a bit of time surveying what is needed for my project and I have chosen to write a python product. Now I am in the edit-debug stage. Is there a streamlined way to reload my product module, and the products imported modules without restarting the ZServer? I have tried exporting a "reload_mod": reload(module) method in my product's __init__.py but Zope complains that it can't find the reload_mod method (http://localhost:8080/reload_mod) Thanks, Sean

ZSybaseDA not releasing connections?

Hi all, I'm using Brian's ZSybaseDA, and I'm running into a peculiar problem. Each time I run a SQL Method, the connection is not returned to the pool. Eventually, I run out of user connections in Sybase and the SQL Method begins claiming that it's product is broken. Restarting Zope kills the open connections and makes everything right again. In Sybase sp_who, I get the following: 7 recv sleep sa 0 ats AWAITING COMMAND 8 recv sleep sa 0 ats AWAITING COMMAND One for each "hung" connection. Any ideas? Has anyone else seen this issue? If so, does going to the Digicool ZSybaseDA solve it? Thanks, -scott

newbie question : <dtml with> upwards in the directory structure

i have a directory structure like this : zope |-----some_folder |---------images |---------news |------newsarchive if i reference an image from the news folder with the following : <dtml-with images> <dtml-var image1> </dtml-with> - everything works out fine.. But when i use the same chunk in the newsarchive folder, i get an error.. I can work around this by usin the url to the image in an <IMG> tag , but this is not what i want.. Sooo, you might create a ZCache object in Folder foo called dtBigExpensivePage and move the DTML Method dtBigExpensivePage into the ZCache (a folderish thing) object dtBigExpensivePage. As a result, you'd be able to access http://machine.com/foo/dtBigExpensivePage and get the cached rendering and maybe access: http://machine.com/foo/dtBigExpensivePage/dtBigExpensivePage to get the uncached rendition. Of course, this lets you, over time and selectively build cached renditions of expensive objects... Did I get that right? --Rob

Still having problems w/Zope install

I always want to display the users login (which would be computer on ever hit) and say, "Welcome rob" However, I'd also like to cache the a rendered <dtml-var news_items> object. --Rob
