ZClass Problems

I can't seem to create a default view of my ZClass. I create a document called "index_html". In this I refer to both standard_html_header and standard_html_footer. Both of these have problems when I try render an instance of my class. One gives an authentication error when trying to access "id". Is there something I'm doing wrong? Also, how do I change the manage screen for a property sheet. It gives me a default view but what if I want to change it?

Request data and form data

Calling a DTML method/document with argument is easy, like: <A HREF="say_hello?who=<dtml-id>">Say hello</A> This uses URL link to call a DTML document/method. But if I use form submit to call, like <FORM ACTION="say_hello?who=<dtml-id>"> <INPUT TYPE='TEXT' NAME="name" SIZE=20> <INPUT TYPE='submit'> </FORM> then the "say_hello" document will respond with "Name Error: who not found". It seems that using form submit cannot transmit request data like "?who=...". Then how can I supply argument to the responding DTML document, in addition to the form data?

Newbie Question on Informix

Hello all I know you can use ODBC to access Informix from the windows platform. Is there a way to access an informix database using an linux machine? I noticed that there is a python module for Informix, can this help the situation? Does this mean I could access informix if I create python methods to do it? How complicated is it to create the interface to zope? Thanks in advance Grant

You ZClass_add method probably has a call to manage_editProperties or manage_changeProperties... *After* that call, do <dtml-call reindex_object> Also, you can't use the normal property editing page. Newbie and the ZClass - how to set properties

<insert standard new person grovel here> I have went through the basic tutorial in the Z Classes tutorial and it works fine. Then I enhanced it for my own purposes and can still create instances of my ZClass. Enhancement includes adding more fields to factory form and making it 'ENCR=multipart/form' Now my questions are: 1. How do I see the input values in the new instance? 2. How do I get the FULL URL in DTML?

I'm trying to write a dtml method which uses a redirect to return to where it was called from, this is not normally a problem, I just pass the <dtml-var URL> to this particular method, and redirect back to it, however I have not hit a problem, I need to return to a form-generated page (actually a SQL search result), and therefore need to include the form data in the return. The new site is focused on providing a framework for the Zope community to develop and share on-line resources. The new Zope.org site is running Zope 2 and makes heavy use of the Portal Toolkit, the Catalog and ZClasses. * Evan Simpson's Python Methods product which allows editing of Python methods through the web got a lot of attention this week. How do I use Zope for XML-RPC?

I'd like to use XML-RPC to communicate between a Zope on Sun/Solaris and a Zope on Win NT. I thought I read somewhere that Zope supports XML-RPC, but I can't see how it is done. Does Zope support XML-RPC out of box, or is some assembly required? Does Zope ORB parse XML-RPC requests/responses? How does it know it's getting XML-RPC? By the Content-Type? Is there any support in Zope for a method to create XML-RPC requests and responses, or does the method have to generate XML itself? -- Thanks -- Loren
