sqltest conditions

I just spent the day playing with my shiny new Zope installation and SQL methods, and I have been wondering if there is any reason why you can't specify a comparison operator in a sqltest directive. What I really wanted was something like:  which would produce SQL like: colname like 'value' I know that I can use a construct like this:  colname like   But it is quite clumsy. If no one can come up with a reason then I might take a stab at adding an optional attribute to sqltest, something like this: Option SQL ------- ------- op=eq C = V or C in (V) if V is a list op=like C like V op=lt C < V op=le C <= V op=gt C > V op=ge C >= V op=ne C <= V where C is the column name and V is the value of the variable. Does the order of the comparisons make sense? Should it be "C op V" or "V op C" ? Obviously, only "op=eq" will work with lists, though I guess I could generate something like: ( C like V[0] or C like V[1] or ... ) for "op=like" with a list though I'm not sure of the utility. I had a quick look at the source, in sqltest.py, and I don't think it will be hard to add this. Can anyone come up with a reason why this doesn't make sense? Hugh

The ZCatalog not in the root folder problem?

There seems to be a (identified) problem with ZCatalogues which are not located in the root folder returning 'extra' info on the getpath call, and other oddities, I've seen reference to this on the mailing list, but cannot find the original discussion, can someone please post it to me? it seems to me that Zope returns Content-Type=application/octet-stream in the HTTP-header when documents start with anything but <HTML>. <dtml-tree> from a ZCatalog?

As I'm sure this is a done thing in Zope, can anyone give me a pointer as to how to create a tree view of the results of a ZCatalog query? In my particular situation I return a number of fields, notable TYPE, THEID and TITLE, There are about 5 'TYPE's, a bunch of 'THEID's, and whatever TITLEs people choose to create (this is for a 'notes' ZClass allowing people to have personal notes attached to pages), I would like to create a tree with the first level representing the types present, the second level representing the ids withing the expanded type present, and finally the actual titles. is this dooable with a tree? Using DTML method without HTML rendering?

The basic benefit of DTML method and document is that you can use dynamic substitution in the contents. This is like the "macro" mechanism in C(of course, much more powerful). Question: Can I use the dynamic substution of DTML, but suppress the HTML rendering? For example, if I have a source program saying x <- 1 the DTML rendering will convert the string to "x <- 1". Can I suppress this? How can I do this in Python code? If I can use the DTML dynamic substitution without HTML rendering, I can let users to input some program parameters in HTML form and run the program(in my case, an statistics server based on R) through the Zope server. This can simplify HTML code, I can simply use e.g. n <- <dtml-var number_of_person> p <- <dtml-var probability_level> in the program. Or else I have to write code to convert user FORM input.

ZCatalog problems

As I understand it searching on multiple indexes gives me results that match the criterea for both indexes. How do I get a result set that has results in either index, ie Index1="blah" OR Index2="blah" instead of Index1="blah" AND Index2="blah". Also I havn't a clue on how catalog a document that is based on a SQL query. Before I can index my site I need to have this information in my index. Has anyone been able to do this?
