Unfortunately, the whole project deals with making corporate data available to our outside people and distributors. The data is in Visual FoxPro tables which I access via ODBC. Therefore, I must run on windows. I must use SSL -> must use IIS. (aaarrrggghhh!!!!) Import from Zope-1 to Zope-2

Hi, I have a site built in Zope version 1.10.2 (binary release, python 1.5.1, linux2-x86). Now I´d like to export everything into Zope-2. It doesn´t work using export/import ... Have anyone experiensed anything similar? /Bruno

Problems in 2.0 using ZServer ws. using IIS

I have a project that is being developed for in house use. It will need to run under IIS in order to use SSL. We are about 2-3 weeks away from deployment. I have a problem with truncated results being sent back whenever I am routing through the pcgi wrapper under IIS. Icons do not render completely (if at all) and html pages are often truncated. I access zope with http://IP-ADDRESS/scripts/zope.cgi/... When accessing via http://IP-ADDRESS:8080/... I do not encounter these problems. An article on the Microsoft Web site claims that these types of CGI problems are caused by improperly written CGI processes runnig under IIS 4.0, which implements the CGI standards more strictly than previous versions. Additionally I seemed to be able to add a new dtml method when accessing Zope via IIS 4.0. Comments? Suggestions? Jim, I don't have any experience running under IIS, but Amos Lattier does. He was the first to get pcgi-wrapper.exe working with it. The Win32 hack of pcgi-wrapper was mainly a proof-of-concept thing. I tested it using Apache. Win32 incurs a substantially higher process launch cost (Unix's fork has a more efficient copy-on-write mechanism). Hopefully, Amos will join this thread. Until then, one suggestion might be to set the System Environment Variable: PYTHONUNBUFFERED=1 (or set in Zope.cgi). Good luck. Jeff Bauer Rubicon Research

Hi, I know that if I have a variable on a form I can contstrain its type using varname:type, however, I would like to create a non-form variable that is of type list and haven't been able to figure out the correct syntax to do so. Normally I use REQUEST.set('varname', value) to create non-form variables, but I can't figure out how this works in the context of a list. Any light would be greatly appreciated! -- Stand Fast, tjg. Stopping PCGI publisher from starting

Sorry if this is all easily understood by studying the source code -- and I'm sure it is -- but please help me out anyway. If ZServer is running, it seems the PCGI wrapper -- or mod_pcgi? -- is able to connect directly to ZServer, without the need of pcgi-wrapper/pcgi_publisher.py. This is fine, and it is our current scenario, which works great. Unfortunately, if ZServer is _not_ up and running, the PCGI wrapper will kick in and start serving stuff itself. This is annoying when doing maintenance that involves stopping ZServer. Is fixing this as trivial as commenting out stuff from Zope.cgi? The main reason for my trouble is that occasionally I find the Zope OFS is behaving oddly -- SQL connections suddenly being closed and refusing to open, for example -- and in these cases I often find pcgi-wrapper running.
