That was it -- I was still trying to get it on port 9670. The lack of messages on my DOS window had me thinking it wasn't running. I never did get a message that it had started serving HTTP or anything. Editing MySQL records from Zope

Hello Zopers Please let met know if this subject has already been covered. I have just subscribed to this list. Has anyone written a zope object(s) that allows a user to select a record from a MySQL (or other engine) table, display the contents in a html form, and update the record when the user submits the form. Hello, I've "finally" got ZOPE up and running, but I still have one small(?) problem. Details: on apache redhat 4.2 linux Python 1.5.1 (#1, Aug 17 1999, 09:42:48) [GCC 2.7.2.1] Apache/1.3.6 (Unix) At the end of my httpd.conf i have: --------------------------------------------------- <Location /Zope/> AuthType Basic AuthName Zope-realm AuthUserFile /etc/httpd/users require valid-user </Location> RewriteEngine On RewriteLog /new/usr/apache/logs/rewrite_log #RewriteLogLevel 9 RewriteCond %{HTTP:Authorization} ^(.*) RewriteRule ^/Zope/(.*) /home/httpd/cgi-bin/Zope.cgi/$1 \ [e=HTTP_CGI_AUTHORIZATION:%1,t=application/x-httpd-cgi,l] --------------------------------------------------- and most of it works.... I can get the Zope front screen to go... I can open the manage page, I can add users, I can edit current documents, and it serves them fine... but ... I can't add pages... I can't add anything... When I press the add button no matter what I try to add, and no matter where I try to add it I get the HTTP 500 Internal server error page. The button seems to want the document: http://linus/Zope/.?%3Amethod=manage_addDTMLDocumentForm but I think somewhere the "." before the "?" disapears and it says it cant find: http://linus/Zope/?%3Amethod=manage_addDTMLDocumentForm The access_log says 203.32.226.34 - superuser [30/Aug/1999:16:42:48 +1000] "GET /Zope/?%3Amethod=man age_addDTMLDocumentForm HTTP/1.1" 500 282 and the rewrite_log says stuff like 203.32.226.34 - superuser [30/Aug/1999:15:59:43 +1000] [linus.tg.nsw.gov.au/sid# 80a21e4][rid#80bc65c/subreq] (3) applying pattern '^/Zope/(.*)' to uri '/' 203.32.226.34 - superuser [30/Aug/1999:15:59:43 +1000] [linus.tg.nsw.gov.au/sid# 80a21e4][rid#80bc65c/subreq] (1) pass through / I'm guessing the rewrite isn't working for me..... This is the correct (albeit quiet) behavior... Just point your browser at your machine:port, and you'll see Zope. (Hint: I've noticed that you get the "program loading" cursor [the arrow with the little hourglass] when Zope is initializing. When Zope is done, it goes back to the standard arrow cursor.) Zope 2 on Win 98

I installed Python 1.5.2 and then beta 6 of Zope 2.0 on my Windows 98 box. Everything seemed to install fine, but Zope won't start up properly for me. I run start.bat and can see that it calls z2.py, but then it just hits the hard disk for a while and then sits there. I had Zope 1 running fine before this, and when it ran it sent various status messages to the Python window. Now, however, I never get any status messages, nor do I get returned to a prompt. multiple select question

I'm trying to pass values from a multiple select to a property. The property sheet won't let me create a multiple selection though. It fails by claiming that the variable which defines the select elements can't be found. I can create a standard select with that variable though. The variable which defines the elements is on a property sheet higher up in my ZClass heirarchy and it is set to the type lines. Is this the problem? How can I set up a multiple select, or at least pass elements from a multiple select into a predefined property. Ultimately I wan't to create a catalog listing like KMNetNews has, but with multiple categories, and possibly subcategories. Thanks, Jason Jones jason_j(a)countermedia.org

Apache Rewrite Question

Hi all, I am using apache with Redhat 6.0, I have to do some Conditions and Rules that is a challenge for me. I already tried a lot of combinations, now my httpd.conf is like this: RewriteEngine on RewriteCond %{HTTP:Authorization} ^(.*) RewriteRule ^/(.*) /home/httpd/cgi-bin/Zope.cgi/myfolder/$1 [e=HTTP_CGI_AUTHORIZATION:%1,t=application/x-httpd-cgi,l] This works fine, the site begins at myfolder/ this why I put Zope.cgi/myfolder/$1 but I already realized that is not the best way to do it because if I want to access the manage interface I get the content from /myfolder/manage.
