Hi, Put a slash in the file <zope directory>/lib/python/OFS/main.dtml, at line 9. <FORM ACTION="/" METHOD="POST"> ^^^ instead of <FORM ACTION="" METHOD="POST"> Your Rewrite Rules are correct : RewriteEngine On RewriteLog /new/usr/apache/logs/rewrite_log #RewriteLogLevel 9 RewriteCond %{HTTP:Authorization} ^(.*) RewriteRule ^/Zope/(.*) /home/httpd/cgi-bin/Zope.cgi/$1 \ [e=HTTP_CGI_AUTHORIZATION:%1,t=application/x-httpd-cgi,l] If you use ^/Zope(.*) /home/httpd/cgi-bin/Zope.cgi$1 any URL starting with Zope will match which is not what you want. If you use this rule : http://my.site.com/Zope_any_word _you_like will be converted to : home/httpd/cgi-bin/Zope.cgi_any_word_you_like which fails miserably, because there is not a CGI with that name. syntax problem

I have several DTML-Methods that simply hold page Fragments. In my main DTML Document I want to include one of these Methods via the <dtml-var> tag. If I use the method's name it works, the HTML source is included in the document and displayed correctly. But unfortunately, the method's id is stored in a variable (pagename). if I put <dtml-var pagename> or <dtml-var "pagename"> only the the method's id is displayed, not the contents/results of the method call. I've tried all combinations that came to my mind, but none worked. How can I solve this? -- Heiko Stoermer MIG Augsburg

hello guys and gals, i have both zope and postgres installed, and would like to know how to establish a connection with each other... if anyone can point me to some really good online docs, that would be really cool... btw... the links for zdp.zope.org weren't working for me... -Samir

What about compared to Apache with the Python plugin? (I'm pretty sure there is such a thing, I just can't find the name of it right now....). Obviously that ignore the complexity of your vanilla-Python app, but it's not unreasonable to recognize that a typical website will have a mix of - static pages - pages with some relatively simple SSI logic - some pages which could be generated by medium-complexity Python code - and maybe some stuff that really takes advantage of Zope. Getting a sense of the rough performance comparisons in each case would be very helpful. (And if there's a better configuration for certain cases, like use Medusa instead of Apache, that would get bonus points.) Zope2 is a 100% dynamic page generation situation, whereas Apache is only serving static pages. So if you're site is 100% static, use Apache, but as it gets more dynamic, I think you'll find Zope2 to be faster and faster. I can't find this file on Windows installation (I think Zope 1.x used to install it automatically) thought the document WEBSERVERS.txt says it is installed with the Zope package.
