Wrong usage of 'dtml-with' ?

Well, there's a behaviour I tought I knew its result, but after trying it, it seems I was wrong. I don't understand what's wrong so here is what I have: Let's say I have the following folders: / | -foo (Folder) | - index_html (method) | - bar (Folder) | - aaa (anything) | - bbb (anything) In foo Folder's properties, I define a property named 'foldername', which has 'bar' as content. In index_html, I put the following: ---------------- <dtml-var standard_html_header> <dtml-if foldername> <dtml-with foldername> <dtml-in "objectValues()"> <dtml-var id> </dtml-in> </dtml-with> </dtml-if> <dtml-var standard_html_footer> ---------------- What I tought this would do, was that, if the 'foldername' property is found, it would display all the objects in the 'foldername' Folder (use of dtml-with) which should have been 'bar', 'aaa' and 'bbb'. But all I get is foo's contents ('index_html' and 'foo'). Can anyone explain me what's wrong ? why does this not work ?

hi, here is a code snipplet, which behaves misteriously (at least to me)     Insgesamt  Treffer  qstemp:  index:   ,  equal   Treffer Nr.  <a href="?qs=&scol=&srel=&sval=&go="> nächster Treffer </a> </center>    not equal  when I call this the first time I get: Insgesamt 9 Treffer qstemp: 0 index: 0 0,0 equal Treffer Nr. 1 nächster Treffer qstemp: 0 index: 1 1,0 not equal qstemp: 0 index: 2 2,0 not equal qstemp: 0 index: 3 3,0 not equal qstemp: 0 index: 4 4,0 not equal qstemp: 0 index: 5 5,0 not equal qstemp: 0 index: 6 6,0 not equal qstemp: 0 index: 7 7,0 not equal qstemp: 0 index: 8 8,0 not equal when I call it the second time, I get: Insgesamt 9 Treffer qstemp: 1 index: 0 0,1 not equal qstemp: 1 index: 1 1,1 not equal qstemp: 1 index: 2 2,1 not equal qstemp: 1 index: 3 3,1 not equal qstemp: 1 index: 4 4,1 not equal qstemp: 1 index: 5 5,1 not equal qstemp: 1 index: 6 6,1 not equal qstemp: 1 index: 7 7,1 not equal qstemp: 1 index: 8 8,1 not equal apparently the if evaluates only to true, if both values are "0". My public interface "index_html" is a dtml document. When i changed "index_html" to a dtml method everything worked. So now from within "index_html" i just call " to render the content. It is still peculiar to me why "Objectvalues('Folder')" has no values when you call it from a dtml document but has values when you call it from a dtml method. Why is this the case? Why is this the case? You have hit upon the difference between a DTML Document and a DTML Method. A DTML Document has its own namespace. That means that any properties you reference are looked up in the Document first. A DTML Method uses the namespace of its container. So, with the DTML Document, when you call "objectValues('Folder')", it is looking for Folders within the Document. (Which you won't have, because DTML Documents are not object containers). UserDb weirdness update

Hi, I posted a while back about problems I was having with UserDb and cookie authentication (basically a LoginRequired exception being raised that was causing 'an error has occurred' message when I tried to access a page that was restricted). Here's my latest observations - once I have time, I'll write up what little I know as a HowTo on UserDb. I had a folder structure Actors Upload acl_users (a UserDb object) docLogin (these are all properties of the UserDb object) docLogout sqlListQuery sqlUserQuery .... sqlmethods index_html (no acquired permission for 'view', anonymous:view = off, Owner:view = on etc.... index_html is where all the stuff goes that I want authorised people to see. Accessing this URL /Actors/Upload always produced the 'an error has occurred' message. As a test I created a new folder, put a UserDb object in it and made an index_html document with these permissions index_html (no acquired permission for 'view', anonymous:view = off, Owner:view = on ie junk UserDbTest acl_users (a UserDb object) index_html (view permission off, etc. etc.) accessing *that* folder (/junk/UserDbTest) *did* work as expected. To cut a long story short I basically exported *each* individual object in the Upload directory bar the acl_users folder and reimported them into another folder (Upload2). I then created a new UserDb object in the *Actors* folder (ie acl_users) and edited the sqlListQuery and sqlUserQuery SQL queries so that they were pointing at the right database. It looks like this; Actors acl_users Upload index_html sqlmethods etc... Things now work, although I have no idea why (which is a *bit* of a worry...) One thing that *might* be useful for others is that the docLogin document is *included* into the document that needs authentication, at least that's the way it's worked for me, ie; standard_html_header shown from *my* acquisition tree contents of docLogin standard_html_footer shown from *my* acquisition tree This means y'all want to be careful with docLogin, strip away it's <html><body> and </body></html> tags and just leave it bare with the FORM HTML. A bit ramblin' I know, but I hope this helps some people out. If anyone who's more au fait with UserDb can point out the glaring, idiotic, ne'er to be repeated spasm of ineptitude that I've committed - I'll be grateful, honest!. Tone.

manage_clone gives permission error since Zope2

Hi there! Since we upgraded to Zope 2.0.0b4, I have major troubles with "manage_clone" in a product which worked fine before. Whenever I try using it, I get permission errors, even the superuser cannot use the method that worked fine before. Assuming I did something wrong, I took the Zope Content Manager Guide and typed the Plutonia example in again. It uses "manage_clone" as I do in my product. I ran this example, and hey! It did not work and gave the same weired "ApplicationDefaultPermissions" errors and stuff like that. I tried login as a superuser, and again I got authorization errors. First of all I though the error must have to do with wrong permission settings of my role, but than the superuser should not get an error, right? I also don't understand the new "mapping" permissions in the products since Zope2. Any clarification? Thanks, Floyd -- http://floyd.va.com.au

BUG (?): Default file names...

I don't know if this is a bug in Zope 2..b5 or a feature, but I don't like it. [test] |-- DTML: menu.html |-- DTML: m.html | |--[sub] |-- m.html ------------------------- /test/menu.html <html><head></head><body>  </body></html> ------------------------- When I call /test/menu.html , everything works as expected, but when I call /test/sub/menu.html, the file /test/m.html is inserted in menu.html and not /test/sub/m.html. In version 1 the file /test/sub/m.html would be inserted... Is this ab bug or a feature I can deactivate? btw: Properties behave in the same manner (as opposite to version 1).
