tree tag: how to find out if a folder is a leave

Hi Zopsters, I need to build a navigation tree that has has only the leaf-folders hyperlinked. (Two frame design: left frame navigation, right frame some kind of property page, but only for the folders that are leaves in the tree.) so: in the tree tag, how do I find out whether an element is a leaf or not? IDE/ATAPI drive? Unless money is really tight, don't go for anything but SCSI. SCSI is a much more flexible solution, and generally faster, less CPU-intensive, and more compatible. (Your mileage may vary; personally I have no experience with how well UltraDMA works on Linux. It may be dandy for all I know.) Traditionally SCSI drives have been more advanced than their IDE/ATAPI counterparts because they have been made to sit in servers. If there's stuff that's not in LDAP, then complain to Netscape. Hello, Digital Creations is pleased to announce the pubic availability of the new Zope.org site. This site is currently in *beta*; it mostly works, but it not yet complete. Eventually it will replace the current Zope.org site. http://www.zope.org:18200/ * What's new about this site? The new site is focused on providing a framework for the Zope community to develop on-line Zope resources. Using Zope itself community members can experiment and create their own resources on Zope.org, much as Python hackers create their own content on the Python starship site. To participate, you can create a membership for yourself which provides you with an area to create objects, and the ability to personalize the site. The new Zope.org site is running Zope 2 and makes heavy use of the Portal Toolkit, the Catalog and ZClasses. * What's Membership all about? Membership allows you to create an account on Zope.org. Then you can build and manage your own Zope objects. You can upload your contributed software, and author your own documents on-line. If you can't install Zope locally this is a great way to try it out. If you are a Zope guru an account allows you to share you information efficiently with the Zope community. Everything you create can be woven into the fabric of the site through the magic of the catalog. For example, many pages are built from Catalog searches of member objects. Membership also allows you to find out about what's happened on the site since you last visited. For example you can search for all How-To objects that have changed since you were last at the site. * Is the site useful if you don't want to be a Member? Yes. The main feature of the new site for non-members is searchability and access to member content. Wondering about DTML syntax, just type 'getitem' into the search form and find the right pages of the DTML Guide, and any relevant user contributed How-Tos. * Why is the site considered 'beta'? Because Zope 2 itself is still in beta, and because we have not moved enough content to the new site. There may even be a bug or two left ;-) * What should I do if I find something broken, or have suggestions? Send them to info(a)digicool.com. Please realize that this site is not yet complete. This is in the DTML documentation, and also in the Python documentation (check out the string module and the split function). I just read a _little_ about Netscape Calendar server and it seems like Calendar data is stored in Calender server and user data are stored in LDAP. IF this is true then I have no idea how you would access the calendar info. However, we're using LDAPConnections in an consulting project. Get: LDAP Connection from: http://www.zope.org/Download/Contrib You'll need client LDAP libraries which are available from http://www.openldap.org/ Finally, the book Building Directory Enabled Apps is a good one! --Rob

Several urgent questions...

hello zopisti, we are on our way to replace our static webpages with zope-driven web-application. As long as you use standard features zope is - in my opinion - self-explainatory, but... we ran into several problems, respectively questions: a) upload of pictures/documents (pdf,ps, etc.)? is there an easy-to-use solution out there which one can use? what we want is a way to allow end-users to upload various files into zope or an ftp-account which then are provided to anonymous users for downloading. b) Folder parameters!!!!!! how can I change these parameters with DTML? I declared a parameter "sprache" which holds "de" as default at the root-level. When a user wants to read the content in english (sic!) the parameter should be set to "en" (I use the parameter in ZSQL statements - it works well).
