Stable ZopeHTTP crashes on Linux - TAR problem?

Hi all. I'm using the latest stable release in Linux 2.0.37 and Zope crashed three times in less than 24 hours. The logs seems to be switched. "serve.log" have only a error message and "sever.errors" have the entire access log. In this case the source was only untared and not modified in any way. It looks that a newline is the problem here, am I right? Just some quick programming notes: 1) First, the original announcement for testing the site was for a very limited audience. Please, please, please...don't forward the URL to others. 2) Second, if you notice a hole that allows people to do malicious things, please notifiy us first. I've turned the site off for a while. Brad, Welcome to the Open Source ZOPE community. The solution to your problem is simple... Q: Does Tera.com have money to spend? A1: If YES, contact Digital Creations for direct support and collaboration. You can spend a tidy pile of money for access to DC folks and still not spend what you would for a license-only to ZOPE technology if it were offered under a proprietary product strategy. To my mind, ZOPE beats products costing many tens of thousands of dollars. So spending some bucks on training and support is chump change compared to what you get in return. A2: If NO (like most of us), participate in the community. The mailing list is maddening active, but the best way to get quick, specific answers. Stephan Richter's informative response is proof that the list works... although we are drowning in our own success as even the digests get art coming fast and furious as list activity increases... but relief is on the way... ANN: GuestCounter 1.0

Guest Counter is a very simple product whose class instances can count the number of "guests" to a web site. It counts users using any kind of ID you want, although it makes most sense to use a user's IP address. Since HTTP is a stateless protocol, visitors cannot be precisely tracked, and so the counter continually times out registered IDs in order to approximate the current bulk of visitors. A simple mechanism for piecing together "graphical" counters using GIFs or whatever you want is also provided. Installation instructions: Unzip/tar in Zope root folder, then restart Zope. MySQL Python module

Greetings all: I'm trying to install the ZMySQLDA. Before that, however, I need to recompile Python with the MySQL module. The problem is that I'm not sure which version of the MySQL module I should use and where I can find it. Cannot use rename and other buttons on root folder

When I check one of the items in the root folder and click any of the rename, copy etc buttons at the bottom, it shows me a view of the root folder in the frame. In any other folders other than the root folder, the buttons work fine. What's going on? Thanks, Jim

HELP? Copy and Paste in Python

Hi, Having had no luck in copying and pasting my objects in DTML, I decided to try an External Method. I wrote a function that takes two arguments: from object and to object. It is supposed to copy all of the objects in the from object (a Folder in this case) into the to object (a ZClass instance that inherits from CatalogAware and ObjectManager). Here is the code: def candp(fobj, tobj): "Copy and paste" ids = fobj.objectIds() if not ids: return cdata = fobj.manage_copyObjects(ids) tobj.manage_pasteObjects(cdata) I get an error that the object that is referred to is not found. Problem with in and SQL query

Hi zopers, I have the following problem. I have to create a report that contains certain stats for some machines for each month of the year. I have the query that do returns the values for all non-zero stat. Now I would like to make zope to fill all the values of the matrix months x machines. Basically, I have to run through the results of a SQL method without an in. The in will be performed on the month number and machine number, and I will print the value in the query result if it corresponds to month and machine number (and advance some cursor on the query), otherwise I will print zero. I am searching a pure Zope solution (no DB manipulation). Jim, the changes are being propagated - but not to the old 'Zope' CVS module, which has been frozen with the release of Zope2. All checkins (since july 22) have been going to a new module, named of course 'Zope2'. From what i can tell, the Zope2 public repository is up to date, so i suspect that you're still tracking the old Zope module. Let me know if i'm that's not the case, and i'll see what i can glean. Error listing Zope2b4 root folder via FTP

Hmm, having just supplied that FTP hint, I find that it doesn't seem to work on my 2b4 install, at least listing the root folder doesn't, everything else does.
