I have a b4 test install here and I can't reproduce this :( Perhaps it could have something to do with the particular classes you are using - can you tell me what the base classes are for one of your ZClasses that is exhibiting this behavior? I can't run start :(

MayDay!! MayDay!!!! I just installed Zope on another machine after using it for a while on another machine. Bear in mind ZServer will try to change it's UID. Simple (and horribly insecure) fix is 'chmod 666 var/Z2.pid'. A better solution is to make var/ and contents be owned by the user that's ZServer is trying to run as. (DC folks: maybe a try/except around this with a nicer error message?) Anthony

Couple of solutions - one is to use UserDb, and make it use cookies rather than basic auth. You can then load 'acl_users/docLogout' to log out. Another that I use for testing is to use ssh's port forwarding to fool the browser into thinking I am connecting to a different server. For example, if I have zope running on host kahlua, port 8080, I run ssh with 'ssh -L8081:kahlua:8080 -L8082:kahlua:8080 -L8083:kahlua:8080' I can then connect to localhost:8081, localhost:8082, or localhost:8083, and the connection will be forwarded to the zope server. Because it's a different host:port, the browser won't re-use the auth info, but will prompt again for each host:port. Batch Processing

Hey guys, I just copied the example from the DMTL to try batch processing by providing a list of all members in my database. I use a query to generate teh sequence, and do not simply use words like in the example. Are queries not supported? It just ignores the dtml-in tags that contain 'next' and 'previous' and just displays the entire list.
