Hi, In some recent messages, there were people talking about creating objects from within External Methods. In there, after the createInObjectManager call, they call a _setObject method (or something like that). Unfortunately, we can't do that from DTML because it starts with _. Maybe there is some piece missing that is need to create these objects wherever you wish via DTML? Not to confuse the issue, but I've got a slightly different situation and a slightly different problem (but no luck, either :) I have two ZClasses: KMArticleStore and KMArticle. There is a method within KMArticleStore that I would like to use to create new KMArticles. I've tried a few variations to get this to work. Apparently, the GuestBook instance is being created but instead of being contained in the ProjectManager instance, it is simply returned inside the ProjectManager_add constructor page. When I remove the redirect at the end of the ProjectManager constructor and  instead of  the above DTML statements, I get a <GuestBook instance at 80f12e0> in the ProjectManager_add page. I am pleased to announce the first alpha release of XML Document. XML Document allows you to use xml objects in the Zope environment. You can create xml documents in Zope and leverage Zope to format, query, and manipulate xml. http://www.zope.org/Download/XMLDocument This release requires Zope 2.0x and the pyexpat parser which will be distributed with Zope come Zope 2.0b1. Until the Zope beta release you can get pyexpat from the Python xml-sig's xml package. http://www.python.org/sigs/xml-sig I'd love feedback on the functionality and design of this product. I think that it has a lot of potential. Also I encourage contributions on this project since I do not have a lot of time to spend on it myself. Happy xml hacking! -Amos P.S. newbie question: nested loops

I just started using Zope this week, so I'm pretty wet behind the ears, so if anyone could answer these questions, I'd appreciate it. I'm trying to write a nested loop in DTML and am running into some difficulties. The goal is to loop over the elements of a "lines" property of a folder and lookup those names (which are the names of subfolders), and then repeat this process in a inner-loop (on the subfolders) to lookup the names of documents in those subfolders. The object structure looks something like this: /home (property users=['user1', 'user2']) | +--/user1 (property publish=['object1', 'object2']) | | | +---object1 (DTML Document) | | | +---object2 (DTML Document) | +--/user2 (property publish=['this', 'that']) | +---this (DTML Document) | +---that (DTML Document) The goal here would be to iterate over the users in the outer loop and then to iterate over their published documents in the inner-loop (thus getting all published documents from all users). I've got a DTML method (sitting in /home) that looks something this: (NOTE: I'm using a version of Zope which doesn't support the new "let" tag -- I'm guessing that the "let" tag is syntactic sugar for a "with _.namespace()" construct.) ------------------------list_docs------------------------------ <table> <tr> <th>Id</th> <th>Name</th> <th>Author</th> </tr>      <tr> <td></td> <-- show document id --> <td></td> <-- show document title -->   <td></td> <-- show user name == author --> </tr>   </table> ------------------------------------------------------------------ What am I doing wrong here? I think I'm having an unnecessairly hard time solving this, so please show me if there's an easier way. Writing all this also leads me to a second question: Why does DTML require that I explicitly look-up names-space elements in the special namespace variable (_)? Zserver blocks DDE on Win NT?

I observed that Zserver obviously inhibits DDE-Connections on Win NT. For Example: If I want to open an Access - Database within MS Word I have to shut down Zserver. Everything works fine with Zhttpserver. Is that already known? Are there any Workarounds.
