The trick is, the 'method of a certain name' is the SAME method as the one you create. This is an extremely tricky acquisition/recursion trick. To do this trick, create two DTML methods in your top level folder, 'start' and 'voodoo'. DTML Method 'start':    DTML Method 'voodoo':   <a href=""></a>   Notice that the voodoo method calls itself. Thus, the voodoo method will call the voodoo method in every subfolder it finds, which in turn calls the voodoo method on it's subfolders.... etc. until 'objectValues' returns no more subfolders. Classic recursion. Where the voodoo comes in is that the method 'voodoo' does NOT have to be in every single folder on the site. All of the subfolders, and their subfolders, *acquire* the method from 'above' them. Thus, recursion and acquisition are used together, one to travel down the objects to recursivly call itself, the other to travel up to objects to find itself so it can call itself recursively, and when you mix the two together, you get a much simpler solution (but not a very gramaticaly sane sentence, try it, it will work for you). very beginner question

I have just started with Zope. I have gotten it built and running, and using squishdot (very cool.). I have the following question ( which I havent been able to find an answer to). The situation: I create a folder( say folder_a), put various items in it, and create a user who will be able to edit the documents,etc. I want this user only to edit what is within folder_a. How does such a user log into Zope? I.e. www.zope.com:9673/manage doesnt work. should it be www.zope.com:9673/folder_a/? or www.zope.com:9673/folder_a/manage? I am sort of embarrassed to be so lost at such a beginning point. john

Go ahead and change it, I took a look around. Not only can you not delete a ZCatalog, you can't delete *anything*. All attempts to delete raise an unautorized. This leads to the conclusion that it is probably not a ZCatalog bug. The funny thing is, according to the security machinery, superuser should never get an unauthorized. I would recommend the following course of action: Remove the ZPublisher patch that was applied, because the Unautorized is raised in ZPublisher, this is highly suspect. Test. If it fails, do a CVS checkout (http://www.zope.org/Community/CVS_public_access) of both Zope and ZCatalog and see if the problem exists in the latest version. If not, try your patch. This could pretty conclusivly point the the patch. If all else fails, wait for Zope2.0.0a4 and ZCatalog1.0.0a2 sometime next week.
