type conversion required?

I would like to save the html product of a database query for subsequent recall. If I have something like this:    where PRICE is a numeric field from the database, then I get a typeError - presumably because PRICE is numeric and the others are text. Publishing a sub-folder in 2.0.0a3

Evan Simpson sent me a fix for publishing a sub-folder, and I have ported that fix to 2.0.0a3 . Do not apply this patch naively, I've tested it once and I'm not at all familliar with the internals of Zope. It's posted here for discussion. The Apache rewrite rule is changed to add ZOPE_OMIT_STEPS=1 to the environment. The patch makes ZPublisher chop as many initial pathname elements as specified in ZOPE_OMIT_STEPS. Hi! I've created a subsite patch for Zope 2.0.0a3. The usage is easy, just add a E=ZOPE_DROP_FOLDER:num, to the RewriteRule, where n is the number of ids to drop. So for example, the following RewriteRule is correct: <VH www.photoderm.at> ... RewriteRule ^/(.*) /home/httpd/htdocs/cgi/mtg/mtg.cgi/sites/photoderm.at/$1 [e=HTTP_CGI_AUTHORIZATION:%1,E=ZOPE_DROP_FOLDER:2,t=application/x-httpd-cgi,l] ... </VH> This way, Zope drops 2 folders (/sites/photoderm.at) in the beginning. Something like this should probably be included with the standard distribution. This patch doesn't change a thing in the normal path processing, it does munge the REQUEST only when ZOPE_DROP_FOLDER is activated. Hi zoppers: First of all, I just started working on zope so I apologize if this question if too obvious for you, but I didn't find the answer on the docs.... I'm trying to make a navigation section on the left of my pages, something pretty near to the  statement, but I don't want the "plus" signs, so I decided to work with  statements based on a example I've found on the Zbook doc (zb_all_view). My "navigation" DTML starts with  and I want it to always start from the "root" folder, showing only the subfolders for the branch I'm inside. Recursive DTML?

Is there any way to have recursive #var references in DTML? I have the usual standard_html_header reference at the top of all of my DTML files, but I would like to include some #var references in the header. For example, standard_html_header = """ <html> <head> <title> My title is  <title> </head>""" I naively tried this, but the mytitle reference came through as a comment. Is there some easy way to make this work? Thanks, -jason

too many Zope logos

I have noticed a second Zope logo appearing in some places (notably the Portal Toolkit Demo, but now also the www.mgmt-inc.com homepage, for instance). Since it is our common goal to evangelize the Zope platform, I believe it is a bad idea to have two Zope logos floating around the net, as this dilutes the branding effort. I think everybody should refrain from creating alternative Zope logos. On the contrary, we should establish guidelines for using the oficial logos, and post "oficial renderings" on the Zope.org site. In sum, we should all choose one logo and stick with it. By the way, in my opinion the Zope logo as displayed at the zope.org homepage is EXCELENT: it is beautiful, simple and can be recognized very quickly. One cannot ask for more.
