Thanks for the reply. >From the W3C (World Wide Web Consortium) themselves, it is the ONLY TRUE WYSIWYG HTML Editor (i.e. no "preview" BS like IE/Netscape, TRUE WYSIWYG) and produces 100% pure DTD-defined [X]HTML 4.0 with CSS 1 support. It also supports the full HTTP 1.1 spec (for compliant HTTP 1.1 servers like uploading and security). Since it supports ALL HTML 4.0 tags, there is no reason to manually edit your code. And even if you do (and interject non-standard HTML), I have found it still keeps the code nice and pretty (I use OpenSource GVIM on both UN*X and Windows, simple but nice syntax colored HTML editing -- but rarely needed when using Amaya). LIKE ZOPE, IT IS OPENSOURCE! And runs on numerous platforms. Here is the *VERY FAVORABLE* ZD PCWeek Review: http://www.zdnet.com/pcweek/stories/news/0,4153,406026,00.html One thing ZD liked about Amaya OVER EVERYTHING ELSE is the use of Styles like a word processor does. Highlight and apply ... very simple, but very powerful. And best of all, produces 100% standard HTML! The only thing they found wrong with Amaya was using existing documents that do not conform to a DTD. I love how they say "Web pages with nonstandard HTML don't display properly." All I can say is how are nonstandard HTML pages supposed to be displayed 'normally'??? Compared to what??? Netscape, Internet Explorer, Opera, etc...??? Basically, if you are going to write non-standard HTML, you need to write a DTD. And Netscape and Microsoft need to learn how to do that for their respective editors (of course, they forget this little responsibility!). That way, what you see is what you get. Hi ! I've recently installed zope 2.0.0a1 on a couple of machines (all using apache 1.3.6 & pcgi) and ran into some minor problems - I hope reporting them will further improve zope. time.tzname one linux libc5 based python 1.5.2 installation doesn't provide time.tzname - the ImportError in DateTime.py should be caught PCGI_EXE & execl this was a tricky one: under one installation I had an old python 1.5 in /usr/bin and a new python 1.5.2 in /home/xxx/opt/python-1.5.2/bin/. But because the pcgi-wrapper uses execl the wrong binary was called at pcgi-time ! Solution: is PCGI_EXE is an absolute path, then use execlp instead of execl. PCGI_EXE & permissions if the pcgi-wrapper cannot execute the binary or not access the directory of the binary a more informative error message would really help first time installers sys.version related to above, one of the first tests should be a check that the version of python zope is running under is really at least 1.5.2 apache rewriting Assume that I rewrite /foo/Zope to /foo/cgi-bin/Zope.cgi for passing HTTP auth. information. This works fine for the first access, but then all references within the zope generated pages point to /foo/cgi-bin/Zope.cgi/whatever and no further rewriting is done from this point on - so management is not possible. A workaround is to set SCRIPT_NAME=/foo/Zope in Zope.cgi, but I think this problem should be handled by zope. Regards, Markus P.S. the CVS server seems to be down ----- Markus F.X.J. Login Button?

Hi all, What part of the Zope-mystery would I call to make use of a login button, I know how to check for particular access, but I would like to create a page that has certain functionality for 'anonymous' but offers more functionality if the user authenticates after clicking on a button/link/etc. TIA Phil phil(a)philh.org

Managing users in sub-folders

Hi all, I have a small test system set up and want to allow a role to manage users, not the Manager or Owner but a role called 'author'. What properties would I have to set to allow this role to manage users for a specific directory but not to manage any other stuff? TIA Phil phil(a)philh.org

Proxy server?

Hello all, here is my question of the day. Does anyone know how to check if a Zope site is being accessed through a proxy server. Basically the authentication setup in the ucl_users folder will not let people through to the site if they are going through a proxy server, it works fine in other situations. I do not understand fully how proxy servers work so any explanation or work around would be appreciated. Copy and Paste with ZopeCVS

Packing and importing with ZODB3?

Hi all, I'm trying out a CVS version from last night (GMT) and am having trouble packing the database, I've imported a lot of files and would like to pack but nothing happens when you click the pack button. I know that some of the DB management features are not yet available but is there anyway of packing other than using the pack button. On another note I'm having trouble importing a ZODB3 exported 'portion' of another db, I have ZopeCVS running on my machine at home and wanted to import some stuff to a machine running ZopeCVS at work and it's a no-go, any ideas.
