How to use the Scheduler

Better Memeory Management Feature Request

I just posted this in the Collector but I wanted to get some feedback from the list as well. That way those greedy bastards at DC won't get all the fun of fixing and extending zope. We Need some sort of method to keep memory usage in check. Currently a brand new instance with an empty database will consume 4 MB of memory. If you upload 1 or 2 6 MB files into this database the running process swells up to 18 MB in memory and no matter how many times you flush the cache the process still remains the same size. For that matter we're unable to decrease the number of objects stored in the cache as well. Maybe we are using it wrong? It would be nice to be able to set a quota of 10 MB to the total amount of memory each process uses. Or to have more aggressive garbage collection. If we can get a fix on this issue then running multiple instances of Zope from the same box should be a breeze. Hi, I'm developing a Chart product based on PIL. I created a 'my site'/lib/python/PIL softlink and in the PIL directory I put an empty __init__.py, then I could issue: import PIL.ImageFile. Zope on the Mac

Hello, At work I use a Win95 PC and downloaded and installed the Zope Binary and have it going without any problems. However at home I use a PowerPC Macintosh. Has anybody compiled and gotten Zope to work on the Macintosh? I have all the tools to do it, CodeWarrior Pro 4, but do not have the knowledge/skill. I am interested in developing on my Mac, deployment will be thru a webhost probably on Linux. OK. Now I'm dead in the water. Made one more change, then accidentally clicked on the add button while adding an image before I chose the image from the browse button. Hit the Back button in my browser, Browsed and added the image. When I got back to the main screen listing everything I'd added, everything was back to the way it had been the second time, after my first disappearance, when I started over. I went on to 'Shut Down', then reloaded the Zope.cgi/manage url... 'Serious Application Error has occurred, and my pcgi.log shows the message at the end of this email. In short,... Aaargh!!!! OK, now this is deeply odd. I started rebuilding what I had done previously, the stuff that disappeared. After making a few changes, I clicked on a file I had just created, and was greeted with the same message that appeared earlier when the stuff disappeared (That message is listed at the end of this message). I then clicked back on the main 'Zope' item in the nav frame, all the stuff that disappeared earlier was back, and the work I had just done was gone.
