It is a module which creates a publishable object. It was never meant to be used with the Zope management framework. External methods don't in general lend themselves to plugging publishable objects into the Zope hierarchy. To find out more read the External Method documentation: http://www.zope.org/Documentation/Reference/ExternalMethods You have a couple options. If you want to plug the ad generator into the Zope object hierarchy, proceed along the lines of the 'PlayHouse' example in the External Method documentation. If you just want to publish the ad generator, use ZopeHTTPServer like so: ZopeHTTPServer ads.py Which will publish the ads.py module with ZPublisher. Good luck. -Amos

Hi all This is probably a Newbi question, so bare with me. In Zope PATH_INFO, BASEn or URLn all return a string consisting of hostname and folder ID's. Is there a way to create a similar string consisting of the folder Title's ?. I don't have access to the Python libs, so I have to do it in DTML. Hope somebody has an answer to this. ZOPE REDIRECTION

Amos, How do you do a simple redirection in Zope<dtml>? 1. User requests a url like the following on Zope --> www.site.com <http://www.site.com> http://www.site.com/pid1/ <http://www.site.com/pid1/> store1/?go=http://www.store1.com/product12/index.html 2. Zope reacts by redirecting the user to --> http://www.store1.com/product12/ <http://www.store1.com/product12/> index.html 3. What is the method in Zope that redirects? There isn't a simple document that describes the syntax for methods. This might be something to add? I have been unable to pin it down anywhere. GREAT PRODUCT! Thanks in advance! Theodore E. ZServer: Www-Authenticate header not passed

It would appear when doing user authentication that ZServer doesn't include a Www-Authenticate header in the 401 response, meaning that (amongst other things) that __bobo_realm__ isn't passed on to the browser. This normally isn't critical, but it's enough to make lynx choke and simply display the 401 response (instead of asking for a username/password and retrying). Lynx bug perhaps? It wasn't listed in the bug collector, so I'm assuming this isn't a known bug. hi, i was fooling around with the guestbook availible via the zope download section and am having problems setting the permission so that anonymous users can post into it. the error i get is: You are not authorized to access this resource.
