Background: - Running Zope 1.9.0 on a Red Hat Linux 5.2 server. - Using built-in web server (still unable to get Apache + Zope working on neither NT Server nor Linux). - Client PC runs Windoze 95. >From the client PC I try to publish to http://135.1.34.197:9673/Plutonia/News/ with User name: News_Admin Password: <verified> There is both a /Plutonia/News directory and an Admin user defined as News_Admin (according to the instructions on the Principia Manager's Guide. So, when I try to publish the file I get the following error message from Netscape: exceptions:AttributeError - Netscape Error uploading files The server responded: Sorry, an error occurred. Also, probably related to this issue: the Zope server dies unexpectedly every now and then. I dunno why. I attach the server.errors file below. I noticed that when you FTP into ZServer it doesn't matter what userid or password you use, it allways says 'Login Successful'. Of course, your not authorized to see anything but your still logged in and there is still an open Medusa channel. Couldn't this be a hole into a possible Denial of Service attack? Michel

Hello: I haven't heard any reactions so far to the new ZServer alpha release which includes FTP. I suppose that this is because it's so good that there are no bugs to report ;-) Seriously, I would love to hear from those who have taken the time to try it out. Did it work for you? Do you like the new FTP capabilities? Let us know. I'm very excited by the new server architecture, and want to know from you all what you think of it. Thanks! -Amos P.S. FYI, the next release of ZServer probably won't be out for a little bit, so now's a great time to make feature requests and submit bugs. The main new features of the next release will probably be major bug fixage, PCGI support, and possibly architecture and interface reorganizations.
