setting flags

I've just installed a Zope message board and am trying to get it working but get 'Resource not found' errors when trying to add a msg. I think the security is set up correctly, but the problem may be due to the 'integrated' flag not being set to 1... index_html says:- If you want to integrate MessageBoard in your product you must set 'integrated' flag to 1. How/where do I set it to 1? I realise this will probably be in the Zope docs somewhere but have no idea what I should look for. -- John

python script returning multiple values?

Hi, I have a python script: def userInfo(userName): server = xmlrpclib.Server("http://tweety:8080/RPC2") email = server.da.emailInfo(userName) office = server.da.officeInfo(userName) pwd = server.da.pwdInfo(userName) acct = server.da.acctInfo(userName) dir = server.da.dirInfo(userName) return ..... I need to return all of the values and access them through a zope page template. I can't find any documentation on this situation. I am suspecting I probably need to create a list in my python script but not sure yet how to display the values in my zpt. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Laura

Web browsers do not (now, at least!) understand TAL, and will ignore any attributes they do not understand. So something must sit between the template and the requesting program to transform the template. Zope (and a few other programs) understands TAL, and will, before handing a page to a requesting client (like a web browser), interpret the TAL and METAL statements, creating an HTML page. --jcc

Newbie namespace question

Hi all, My question is really about HTML. I am implementing an open source defect tracking system called Roundup (a set of Python modules), and noticed that it uses TAL. However, I looked all through the Roundup and Python HTML and did not find a namespace declaration. Isn't one required? This from (http://www.zope.org/Documentation/Books/ZopeBook/2_6Edition/AppendixC.s tx): The prefix identifies the language, and must be introduced by an XML namespace declaration in XML and XHTML documents, like this: xmlns:ns="http://language.creator.com/namespaces/MyAttributeLanguage I realize that the statement above mentions XHTML but not HTML, implying that non-well-formed HTML does not require the declaration. But in the absence of the declaration, how does HTML know how to handle a TAL statement attribute? Why wouldn't it balk as soon as it sees the tal: prefix? Thanks, Jeffrey Blaze

How to trace deadlocks in my application?

I'm developing a fairly complex application that involves a lot of SOAP calls to a remote database server and quite a few external methods. All too frequently I'll get a report that the site's not responding, and when I log into the (FreeBSD) webserver I see that the CPU is pegged at 100% with Python eating all available resource. Does Zope offer any functionality that could help me trace which objects are causing these lockups? -- Kirk Strauser The Day Companies

Calendaring product and default view

I've recently installed the Calendaring product from the collective. The default view or base_view as the action is known, is an upload page for uploading an iCal file for integration with the calendar. Suppose I wanted to switch this default view to the month_view action instead? I have tried to come up with an easy way of doing it (i.e. some property somewhere including default_page for the folder) but nothing seems to work. The documentation that comes with the product is almost nil, so it wasn't much help. Dynamic output encoding

Hi All, I want to change the output encoding of a DTML Method based on a session variable. But unfortunately the code below doesn't work. The client Mozilla/IE presents the page as standard ISO-8859-1, even is the meta tag is set to ISO-8859-9. Any suggestions?
